    Two questions.
Does an individual using some medicine that has not been approved by the bureaucrats pose such a threat that they should be criminally prosecuted, including swat team raids?
Secondly, why should I rely entirely on the opinions of the FDA and AMA, when it is the individuals life at stake and the approval process can take years?

Hey as long as you do not get sick or die from milk infested with harmful bacteria gave a blast. I hate milk, hated it since I was a kid. Of course the fact that I am lactose intolerant makes my opinion easy.

Where is the argument for unethical? Not that I disagree, but without that, there's nothing to discuss.

I understand your point but the problem is there has to be someone with expertise involved to prevent those that prey on others. I've used laetrile as an example. Hundreds, maybe thousands of people lost everything by going to Mexico to be treated with something that no doctor of repute would recommend even as a last resort. It was pure fraud but desperate people do desperate things. How many were unable to buy the pain killers needed to make their last days tolerable because they spent all their money on Laetrile? You could say it's their money I suppose but how often were families left destitute by this robbery because frankly that is what it was, robbery. If the same person with terminal cancer was walking down the street and someone shoots and robs him you'd go after the shooter not say oh well, he was going to die soon anyway and you can't take it with you.
Yes, it would be great if the FDA picked up the pace like other countries but then again thalidomide comes to mind. The Germans allowed it to be sold over the counter as a treatment for morning sickness. 10000 deformed babies later that stopped.
As I've stated, terminal cases under controlled conditions should have protocols for use of not yet approved drugs without liability to the doctor nor the drug company provided truly informed consent is given and traditional treatments exhausted.

So, you support kicking down doors with assault rifle bearing SWAT teams to prevent people from harming themselves then.

The doors of *******s trying to sell them fake cures, yes. They are a tiny step above child abusers/molesters. ....
