WE NEED TO REVISE BOTH STATE AND NATIONAL VOTING SYSTEMS

It is indeed laughable that when IN POWER they never talk about the Budget Deficit (largely impacted by reductions on Upper-incomes); but when they are out of power out come the handkerchiefs and the crying over "scary budget deficits".

Our system of governance has been manipulated for 200-years by Gerrymandering (at the state level) and the Electoral College (at the national level).

These two issues are easily correctable. Outlaw gerrymandering of any kind, and elect representatives to the both state legislatures and Congress by means of the proportional popular-vote: That is,
*The number of representatives to a state legislature is a matter of "one representative per so-many thousands of voters) regardless of where they live. This may require two-voting cycles. No problem, so we vote twice (and on weekends when most voters are NOT WORKING.)
*Ditto for the Congressional HofR and presidential elections.
*We instrument National Identity Cards (based upon an existing Social Security Number attributed at birth as well as the individual's DNA) and require all citizens within a state to obtain one such that both state and national voting is assuredly correct. (One person, one vote electronically and according to identity should be made available over the Internet.)
*Upon moving address, the National Identity Card is employed to indicate the right to vote in any given locality (upon proof of both identity and current address).
*It is the both the right-and-duty of all citizens TO VOTE even if to enter a blank ballot, or be susceptible to a fine of considerable proportions (depending upon last income declaration).

The parties undertook purposefully over the last two-centuries to WARP the voting mechanism predominantly by means of gerrymandering, which MUST BE DECLARED ILLEGAL. One citizen, one vote and the winner is that of the majority popular-vote.

    MY POINT?

Hand in hand goes the massive amounts of money spent on advertising. Voting for public office is NOT LIKE buying beer or the best soap-powder "that washes whiter than white"!

We as a nation should know better and make illegal all such advertising. (And we wont be the only democracy on earth to do so.) See WikiPedia about Campaign Advertising elsewhere in the world.

But, allow ample TV-time (free, gratis and for nothing) to all local, state and national elections such that candidates can make themselves and their political orientations known to the voting public. The massive waste of money on voting in a Carnival Atmosphere is ridiculously expensive and unnecessary in any modern country with ample technological resources applicable ...

The states, being of vastly different sizes (populations), would never have agreed to the treaty forming their union had it not been for the system of electing the president.

Gee, I guess everyone forgot how all those major corporations and businesses WITHHELD opening new jobs FOR 8 YEARS....despite Obama proposing incentives to do so....the GOP congress shot down nearly all efforts by Obama to save the economy from the Bush infused near depression. Just saying.

    Good post and factually correct.

From 2010 onwards, when we, the sheeple, stoopidly gave the Replicants control of both the HofR; meaning that any budget-spending must first issue from there as a bill. So, the HofR systematically refused - in the midst of America's Second Historic Economic Recession - to raise any stimulus-spending. What did they tell us? That the money would be wasted and (besides) America's Total Debt is a more crucial problem that must be solved.

And what about that Debt? Have you heard anything about it from the Replicants since Donald Dork's mishap of an election? Nope!

So, what happened historically is this:
*First, Obama spent 870B of ARRA-spending in his first year of office to stop a skyrocketing Unemployment Rate at 10%!
*Then, from 2010 to 1014 employment creation stagnated! As shown from the Bureau of Labor Statistics here:
*The above shows the Employment-to-population ratio that had sunk from 63% to 58.5% (of the population) in 2008/9 as a result of the Great Recession in 2009/10. But afterwards, when the American consumer needed a boost because far too many people where unemployed, the Replicants refused any further stimulus-spending.

And WHY did the Replicants refuse any further spending from 2010 onwards. For the simple reason that they wanted to unseat Obama (with high unemployment) in the 2011 reelection campaign! Yes! THAT is the sort of political crassness to which the Replicants can descend to protect their privileged Tax Status!

Isn't it convenient that your graphic showed the data for Goods Producing from 2015 onward, when Demand finally primed the economy.

ZERO JOBS HAD BEEN CREATED BETWEEN 2010 AND 2014!

Let's see the data! You are in an Economic DEBATE Forum.

And all you've got a nonsense to offer?

    Exaggerated BS.

From the Bureau of Labor Statistics here, the average wage of a plumber is $57,070 per year and the National Wage Average is $44.5K a year.

There damn few plumbers who earn $85K a year unless they run the business and hire other plumbers.

    Jealousy becomes you so ...

The measurement period is the first 20 months of the Trump Administration with the equivalent period of the end of the Obama Administration.
After spending both of Obama's terms blaming his results on Bush, now Democrats, after first loudly proclaiming that the Trump Administration would be an unmitigated disaster, are trying to claim credit for Trump's performance.

Some facts about employment in the past ten years:
*The Great Recession was handed to Obama on a platter by Bush the Kid in 2008
*He immediately spiked an exploding Unemployment Rate at 10% by passing the ARRA-bill that spent 870B in 2009 to boost the economy.
*When he asked for more after the 2010-midterms the Replicants won the HofR they promptly stopped all further stimulus-spending. (Hoping to sink Obama in the 2012 elections).
*From 2010 to 2014, the US created no new employment. See this graphic from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (here) the Employment to population Ratio:
*The US started creating new jobs in 2014, long before Donald Dork came on the scene to take the credit in 2016 ... !

    Nothing of the kind happened.

Jobs were already being created by the economy in 2014 before Donald Dork lost the 2015 popular-vote but became PotUS anyway.[/QUOTE]

Evidently you don't know how to read a graphic.

The Employment-to-population Ratio (from the Bureau of Labor Statistics) shows here NO NEW EMPLOYMENT ADDED TO THE ECONOMY FROM 2010 TO 2014 ...!

Donald Dork came around to take the credit in 2016. Like he always does when someone else does the hard-work for him and he adds the blather ...

I read graphs like William Tell shoots arrows.
2010 was nearly a decade ago, why the hell are you talking about that?
    Whipped your ass.
Goods producing jobs have increased by 15% more over Trump's first 21 months than they did over Obama's last 21 months.

After Obama blamed both his terms on Bush, now he is trying to steal credit for Trump's Presidency. Obama is such a loser.

Sad! Two Terms is an incredible opportunity to waste!

But, after the two dumbest back to back Presidents of all time, it's nice to finally have a REAL President again!

The Popular Vote isn't the US presidential electorate, Silly! Maybe you should have paid attention in US Civics? But Hillary, she's been through 5 US Presidential elections and she it too dumb to know how it works? She was campaigning in AZ and Iowa while she was losing FL, PA, WI and MI?

Why would you folks run a crooked idiot like that anyway? Nobody much cares for her. You probably ran the only person Trump could beat.

    Not Smart!

There is no "popular vote" for the president. The president is chosen by the state electors.

The popular-vote is the ONLY vote that elects all our representatives to government office. Except one, the PotUS.

The popular-vote is manipulated by the Electoral College for the presidency - and the reason goes back to the origin of the nation. Furthermore, the reason was not valid then and is no valid nowadays given the fact that five times in history the loser of the popular-vote has been elected PotUS. Just when will some dorks understand that miscarriage of the popular-vote. (More than likely never, so wrapped are they in ideological ignorance.)

You, like others on the Rabid Right, have no notion whatsoever of civic-duty, of which the key is the pure popular-vote unmanipulated by an Electoral College (with its idiotic "winner takes all" rule) ...

Your refusal to accept the factual evidence is overwhelming.

Exchanging with you is hopeless. To each Replicant their own Black Hole.

    Moving right along ...

    (You go on Ignore.)

    PATENT ABSURDITY

    Don't know about "comedy".

Anyway, how gruesome when a country elects a female via the popular-vote to be PotUS, and an archaic mechanism like the Electoral College deprives her of her victory. And after FIVE TIMES that this has happened, to walk away justifying the outcome as "That's the way the cookie crumbles!"

Not only sad, but criminal. Except no one wants to call that spade a spade. Not even the Supreme Court - now packed with Replicant-nominated judges!

It's a sad, sad day for Uncle Sam. His fault-lines inbred since the inception of the nation are showing. Nobody can refuse to recognize the patent absurdity of the Electoral College and Gerrymandering as stark manipulations of the popular-vote in order to obtain a preferred outcome by a political party.

    Wakey, wakey, America ... !

    Best Economy in US History?

From whose point-of-view? The Employment-to-population Ratio (E-to-p R) is just recovering from its worst "value in history" and it is nowhere near its pre-Great_Recession value of 63%! See that dismal fact from the Bureau of Labor Statistics here.

Note also on that chart the value of the E-to-p R at almost 65% in April 2000 (its high-point in the range). If one projects that E-to-p R out into the future (as I have done), that straight line intersects the 65% point in 2025!

So it aint gonna happin anytime soon. And perhaps never if Uncle Sam does not get off his soft-ass and start educating his people!

Because all those jobs from 2000 are gone, gone, gone to China. What's left for American workers are a higher level of competence that they can ONLY OBTAIN if they are afforded FREE POSTSECONDARY EDUCATIONAL means to do so (presuming they have graduated from high-school)

Note here from the NPR: Measuring The Power Of A Prison Education - Excerpt:
My Point: One must be a qualified-dunce not to understand the importance in this new Information Age that is upon us of Post-secondary Educational Diplomas. (And at the very least, High Schools could offer basic vocational training to those advised to pursue such a level.)

It's not uncommon when Lefties find their cultish beliefs countermanded by facts to first shriek and then jam their fingers into their ears and run away in terror.

    The FACTS:
Over Trump's first 6 full quarters he has averaged 3% GDP
Over Obama's last 6 full quarters, he averaged 1.48% GDP
Trump more than doubled his GDP growth.

Over Trump's first 665 days the Federal Debt has risen $16,538,242,455.60 LESS than it did over Obama's final 665 days.

Reduce the rate of rise in the debt and double the GDP growth. That is why Trump finally has the Debt to GDP ratio reversing after it's long inexorable climb under Obama-The-Unfortunate and Bush-The-Incompetent, the two dumbest back to back presidents in US history.

The Left predicted unmitigated disaster, instead GDP is up, debt growth is down, employment is at all time highs and wages are spiking. Trump is delivering on his promise to MAGA!

    Take care,

As Ben Franklin said, we are a Republic. Formed as such and reinforced by the Republican Amendments after the Great Civil War with the Slave Holding Democrats who claimed that on a MAJORITY vote, the majority could enslave the minority, murder rape and lynch them at will. In our nation, from it's founding, the purpose of government is to secure INDIVIDUAL, not just majority rights.

We've elected EVERY US President since George Washington on the electoral college, yet dewy faced democrats didn't catch on until 2016?

Maybe Crooked Hillary should put down the gin bottle and pick up a civics book?

What are the full time employment numbers? What are wages looking like when adjusted for inflation? What's the pay gap between labor and management? How much is the stock market influenced by buybacks vs. legit trades? What is personal debt looking like?

Answer these questions and you'll find the blood draining from your face. We're 6 months to a year from 1 of the biggest recessions/depressions we've ever, corporate profits, people talking about high employment without context and stock buybacks are the only reason the panic selling hasn't already begun.

What? You don't have the ability to look things up yourself? Be capable, you'll like yourself better and your woman will be impressed. You will soon be known as "I can do it myself Dave!" You'll stand taller, and give off an air of confidence that will be noticeable to all. You have a very bright future ahead of you!
The Left has been predicting that since election night.
Hopefully you are sitting on a lot of cash.
