J6 Committee Seeks To Criminalize Republican Fundraising

After spying on the communications of members of Congress, seizing bank records of Americans engaged in peaceful protest, fabricating evidence against political opponents, and threateningfreedom of the press, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s hand-picked Jan. 6 Committee has told media allies it will try to criminalize the act of Republicans raising funds for safeguarding elections.

The latest abuse of power from the norm-breaking committee was revealed earlier this week in a one-sided report from the committee’s propaganda arm at The Washington Post.

The committee, composed exclusively of Democrat-appointed members, is seeking access to the private financial records of its political opponents and the donors who support them, as part of an unprecedented effort to claim that fundraising in support of election integrity may constitute wire fraud:

Officials with the committee said the day’s events cannot be viewed in a vacuum — and argued that the fundraising and political appeals that happened in the months leading up to Jan. 6, 2021, are a reason the pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol.“These people knew the claims they were making about the election were false but still sent emails anyways because it was an effective way to raise money,” a person familiar with the investigation said.

There are several major problems with this latest scheme from the committee to redefine legitimate election-integrity concerns as knowingly false claims of stolen elections. First, it is yet another brazen assault on the First Amendment rights of speech and political assembly. Second, it was not, in fact, false to say that the 2020 election was riddled with problems.

On the contrary, it is a conspiracy theory to say it didn’t have major problems, given the exorbitantly funded, widespread, and coordinated takeover of government election offices by Mark Zuckerberg-funded liberal groups to run Democrat get-out-the-vote operations. Hundreds of last-minute changes to election laws and procedures were pushed through — sometimes constitutionally, sometimes not — to intentionally flood the zone with tens of millions of mail-in ballots.

That’s to say nothing of a press that engaged in blatant propaganda for its political allies and against its political foes, and tech companies that meddledthroughout the 2020 election with algorithmic manipulation, the deplatforming of the most effective conservative communicators, and Democrat-led censorship of stories harmful to political allies.…

The J6 committee is engaged in propaganda in order to attack the domestic opposition to the majority. There is much that was wrong about the 2020 election and the manner it was carried out. It is morally wrong to try to criminalize political speech and the expression of speech.

 

The 2020 elections were rigged and it’s no crime to say so. From the mainstream media to big tech social media to the democrat party the game was rigged. Now they want to make it a crime to say it and to protect their ability to cheat and rig forever more.

Again with the Dejoy theory, which was proven false by his own testimony. The reality is is that our mail system needed reform for DECADES. Literally decades, and it reached a fever pitch due to the mass overload of the system in 2020. Many of these same needed reforms were once supported by Democrats, before they realized they could use it as propaganda fodder for the election.

 

Does it make any kind of sense to you that someone would testify that they did something they weren't supposed to do?

Are you suggesting that mailboxes, outdated sorting machines and redundant overtime ONLY existed in communities unlikely to vote "R"?

Are you suggesting all the counties likely to vote "R" were protected by some space-age polymer so their USPS sites, equipment and employees were not in need of Trump's super duper, benevolent "clean up"?

There was a substantial increase in mail-in voting during the 2020 presidential election because then-President's "Democrat Hoax" was on fire sweeping the nation and like all his other bullsh!t, it didn't go away with warm weather, the vaccines weren't ready yet and people were scared to go to the polls and congregate around other people.

It Had nothing to do with "widespread election fraud". It had to do with a wide fraud that didn't lead us through a pandemic.

AN, I can't help you come to terms with Trump's termination. I know it's tough. The grieving process can take a long, long time for some.

 

It has nothing to do with Trump's termination, and it has nothing to do with the election outside of the lie perpetuated by Speaker Pelosi. I just created a thread to address it(thanks to your post prompting me to remember that odious and foul lie.) The Speaker lied to us two years ago, and the culmination of that lie had just taken place 48 hours ago.

 

This is one of the many scams coming from the radical right: Pretending that they are victims rather than the predators who they are.
J6's attempts to investigate the causes that led to the 1/6/20 insurrection by a bunch of thugs, criminals, and other dregs of our society is not the same as criminalizing the grifting of the Republican Party by falsely promoting the delusions of the Worst President Ever Donnie Trump that he lost the 2020 presidential race due to voter fraud.

 

Good news. The committee is following the money: how it was raised and how it was spent. Unless you’re utilizing c3 and c4 organizations to grift there’s not much to worry about here.

 

Anyone that believes that this committee is just investigating Jan 6 just for legislative purposes and if they "happen" to come across a crime then they'll report it....is either 1: A partisan hack 2: Naive 3: An idiot 4: All of the above. The DNC is clearly using this to investigate crimes in order to prosecute their political opponents. Period. They could care less if anything legislative comes out of it...unless they can use it to keep themselves in power.

I mean come on, they're trying to investigate who paid a port-a-potty company money to bring port-a-potty's to the Ellipse for crying out loud. How is that even REMOTELY about the riot on 1/6? What? Did those port-a-potty's tell people to go smash windows and attack police officers or something? This committee has clearly gone beyond what is allowed the Legislative Branch.

 

After reading this thread title, is the Jan 6th committee trying to finally stop all that dark monies flowing to the GOP from the Russian oligarchs?

 

I am so sorry. I can't begin to imagine the level of <whatever it is that causes that condition> for all facts to be invisible. I sincerely wish you the best in healing from it. It looks downright awful from the outside.
