I agree with Newt Gingrich. Back some years back, he was a favorite whipping boy for Democrats. They blasted Newt from kingdom come. I defended Newt very well due to my having FACTS. Newt is extremely smart. Does this mean I wish he was president? Newt as smart as he is, never held an executive job. For that reason, I always said wait until he was a governor first.

Still he defends Session very ably.

Democrats are only interested in regaining the POWER they've lost since 2010. Let's hope the people can see through this "witch hunt" to destroy the Trump administration. If they are successful, they will have ALSO destroyed our country and our democracy. Their own actions should result in further losses of power in the future, yet none of us will know it until election day because the treasonous media will be telling us the opposite of what is actually occurring. just like the last election. Hang in there folks.

I am among the millions who preferred a current or former republican Governor. But the public did not let me vote for any of those. So Trump it was. I really credit him for being made of steel. He has fire tossed at him daily, and not just by avowed Democrats.

Obama was attacked from the day he won the election and handles himself with grace and intelligence.

Newt has a lot of experience in Congress. He's been around, and knows things.

As usual, all you have is character assassination, name calling and insults. You can't win elections that way, . . . and that is what this really about, . . . winning elections and regaining the power democrats have lost since 2010.

Steve, I'm not "assassinating" Newt's character - he doesn't have any character. The man is a charlatan, pure & simple. People bought his BS and here we are......I understand he is considered a hero among some on the right but the man has only been concerned about one thing, and one thing only - Newt Gingrich. He is very much like Trump in this regard....

I guess you are right. Donald Trump showed us last year that you can win by running a clean positive campaign without resorting to name calling or silly insults....

You're a sad person if have to bash people that aren't even in elected office anymore. What difference does it make, he isn't running for president. His statement above rings true to many of us so butt out and worry about what democrats are doing to destroy their OWN chances of regaining power in the future.

You really want to tell me Obama was investigated from his first day in office? Show links for such claims.

Steve, you're still not getting it, Gingrich has inserted himself into the political discourse. Even worse, his wife is a beneficiary of Trump's generosity. You are okay with Gingrich attacking Trump's "enemies" even though he is no longer a "politician" but you're not okay with a response........

    Sad........

NO, "old guy," you're the one NOT GETTING IT. Democrats have been losing power and elections since 2010 because of the things you are doing WRONG, like bashing people instead of coming up with solutions. In Gingrich's case you are bashing his character instead of arguing about what he said, get it? You obviously have no argument. Grow up "old guy."

Read it again if you missed Gingrich pointing out the unwarranted attacks on Sessions.

You mean the only Speaker of the House ever officially reprimanded by the House?

You mean the guy who resigned his office in disgrace after we learned that he was screwing his staffer at the same time that he was busy trying to unseat the President for lying about doing the same thing.

You mean the guy who race baited his way through the 2012 South Carolina primary.

Gingrich has been repeatedly identified as part of a large group of GOP activists who run direct mail scams on gullible (and often elderly) conservatives, pocketing all of the money.

    Or maybe it was this guy;

. . . and you just keep scratching your head wondering why you keep losing elections, doing the same thing over and over hoping for a different result. That's Einstein's definition of insanity.

This guy calls himself a libertarian but isn't it odd how much he sounds like a partisan Republican?

Good Lord, what planet do you live on?

The Harvard University study found that Trump was the topic of 41 percent of all news stories during the first 100 days of his administration.

Previous presidents have dominated less than 14 percent of all news stories in that period.

The report is based on an analysis of news reports in the print editions of The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post; the main newscasts of CBS, CNN, Fox News and NBC; and three major European news outlets.

The study also found there was "not a single major topic where Trump’s coverage was more positive than negative."

Ninety-six percent of all immigration coverage was negative, the highest for any topic. Health care and Russia and the election tied for second, with an 87/13 negative/positive split.
Trump fares relatively well when outlets focused on the economy, with 54 percent of the coverage counted as negative and 46 percent as positive.

The study found that former President Barack Obama was the only president of the past four administrations to receive positive media coverage, with Trump receiving by far the worst.

"Of the past four presidents, only Barack Obama received favorable coverage during his first 100 days," according to the study.
