Joe Biden’s Campaign Calls a Lid on In-Person Campaigning

It's the 9th inning and it looks like Biden doesn't want to take the field. There could be any number of reasons for this, maybe he ashamed of his son and doesn't want to take embarrassing questions. Or maybe his handlers thought he took enough of a beating during the last debate and he needs time to recover. Or maybe his handlers just feel Biden is too much of an unpredictable loose cannon. I wonder if his campaign has seen the last trend in search results - people are trying to find out how to change their vote, and that trend surged on Friday and that doesn't bode well for the Big Guy.

Anyway, the media will take the field for him and do their best to bring him home.

 

Like he got to make that decision for himself.

After displaying their bone deep ignorance regarding the REASONS for the Electoral College for the last four years one can argue that only massive numbers of Dem Party voters could be so ignorant as to think that there was EVER any possibility of altering their own vote after sending it into the official pipeline.

 

Bidens mistake is believing the polls and thinking he can coast across the finish line just as Hillary thought.

You would think people are learning early voting especially weeks before and election and before the debates is DANGEROUS. You don't know what's going to happen.

With infection rates at record highs right now, the Biden campaign is doing the responsible thing and not having events that are going to draw a bunch of people to be in close proximity to each other. The Trump campaign, on the other hand, doesn't care and never has. To be fair, most of their supporters don't either, so why should they?

But while these rallies are likely only drawing folks that are already going to vote, or have voted, for Trump, they are also going to serve as a visible reminder that Trump has never taken the virus seriously, and is more concerned with feeding off the fawning masses than he is about the health and safety of the people who comprise them. No surprise there.

Trump supporters seem to place a heavy amount of importance on these rallies. I say they don't really matter, because they are parties, not political events. In a way they aren't unlike professional wrestling events, where everything is staged and the audience hates the "heels" and cheers the heroes just like they're supposed to.

People who support Biden, as well as the folks who don't really support Biden but are simply voting against Trump, don't need campaign rallies.

Just as in 2016 when it was folly to underestimate just how much dislike there was for Hillary Clinton, it is the same here in 2020 with Trump. He's not the new guy anymore, and there's no hope that he will grow into the role, or that he'll be good because he wasn't a politician, or because he was a "successful" businessman, or any of the other nonsense folks told themselves.

Biden voters simply vote, they don't need to go to Nuremberg and shout for the leader.

Trump voters are like Deadheads, they follow him around the country and have big parties wherever he goes. All told they're probably less than a million people

 

That was Team Joe's initial strategy- to do an "all-virtual campaign", and hide Joe in the basement, so they could keep his fragility and dementia disguised by teleprompters and puppeteering, and COVID would be the excuse to cover for the tactic.

But then they saw how much enthusiasm Trump was drumming up out in the real world, and how much ridicule heat "Basement Joe the Hidin' Biden" was taking, and suddenly the shrinking poll numbers looked scarier than COVID, and they scrambled to find a plane, and throw Joe on it.
