FWIW, I only go to Church for weddings and funerals, but I was raised catholic (alter boy) and attended catholic school, fortunately I survived all those years w/o having to test my gag reflex I'm familiar with the scandals, and I have no love for the catholic church, or the coverup, so I'm not a fan, but with that said they are allowed to have standards, and refuse communion to anyone that they feel the need to refuse, its their right.

Let me explain Christianity We believe that everyone can enter God's dimension if they open their hearts to Him. This happens when a person recognizes themselves as being a sinner and repents. Repentance therefore is the key in uniting with God, so it doesn't matter if a person is a saint or a murderer as long as they repent. The Church's job therefore is to edify people towards repentance, and also to preserve people's lives so they will have the chance to repent. If someone doesn't realize that they are sinners and receives Holy Communion without repenting, it means they see themselves as being the decisive factor of what is right and wrong. In other words they have become gods in their own right. So instead of growing in Grace by receiving Holy Communion (Eucharist), they are adding to their self pride. That makes the Eucharist detrimental to their soul rather than beneficial. Biden should not have tried to receive the Eucharist, since he lacks the enlightenment of God's Grace. If he didn't lack it, he would recognize abortion as being a sin. The priest was actually doing him a favor.
