    an update : http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...nded-near-Ohio-courthouse-suspect-killed.html

A father of a Steubenville rapist was shot dead after he fired at an armed Ohio judge outside a courthouse four years after his son was convicted of raping a girl and a few weeks after his son lost his eligibility to play football this season.

Nathaniel Richmond, the 51-year-old father of Ma'Lik Richmond, was killed after he 'ambushed' Jefferson County Judge Joseph Bruzzese Jr, 65, on Monday morning.

Surprised this doesn't happen more often to judges and prosecutors. Our local state court judges park in a highly secured underground garage and get armed escort from the time they get out of their vehicle until the time they return to it. They also walk out to the exits before the judges pull out to survey the area for threats.

our local federal courthouse wasn't built for that level of security and cannot be retrofitted for it. The main federal courthouse for the district is massive and ubber secured.

so you have a branch district courthouse. The SDOH has three-Columbus, Dayton and Cincinnati. Cincinnati and Columbus have both been HQ and since the Sixth Circuit sits in Cincinnati, the SDOH, western division at Cincinnati has the biggest Courthouse

I have a relative who is a judge. He carries a Kimber 1911 in his courtroom, and he has drawn it before during a murder on the courthouse steps to secure his courtroom.

The Judge who sentenced Manson to death (later overturned when the USSC declared all death penalty sentences improper) came within hair of shooting Manson when Manson tried to attack the judge. Manson Prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi (wrote "Helter Skelter) said the judge had already cleared leather with his 357 and it was almost in the view of the jury when the Bailiffs knocked Manson down.

Odd that this story is being reported given the "agenda" of american media to not report on anything that says anything positive in respect of guns and self defence.

sort of hard to cover up a story about a JUDGE being shot at the courthouse.
