I totally agree with you on this. The US government has no right to do what it is doing with Assange. Everyone should be outraged about this. The government/politicians are just pissed because of all the egg on its face. Especially the Clinton's lol.

The government has no right to charge someone with a crime?

Also, your comment about the Clintons reveals how biased your views on this are. Lil Mike is also biased for the same reason. Increasingly, Americans' sense of what is right and wrong legally and morally seems to be defined by party affiliation, which is sick and very bad for our country as a whole.

The government is the one committing crimes. Assange was exercising constitutional rights. What the government is doing to Assange is as legal as them kicking down my door and taking my assault rifles When I am just exercising my right to bear arms.

See what the same way you do .. have you other than meaningless gibberish to contribute ? What the heck are you talking about .. have you no voice ? .. state your case .. what is this mind blowing revelation that some American Prosecutors agree with.

Don't worry, I despise almost all of the politicians in both parties. I would love to see both destroyed and replaced by a multi party system instead of a duopoly. Lil Mike would probably claim I am a democrat for many of my views, and you seem to think I am a Republican. I am neither, though I have plenty of good friends that fall into both parties. I like people in both camps. Just not their leaders, lol. Neither party cares for their people beyond their ability to harvest their votes.

It wasn't because of what he did it's because of who he exposed.

and once the seal has been breached the info out there.. its out there .. can't put genie back in the bottle .. that information is no longer Top Secret. .. Its not like "well of only a few people know about and we don't know who those people are for sure" you are going to not pull every one of your agents in jeopardy in immediately .. and matters not of some publisher gets ahold of the info and does a public release.. You have already contained the damage as best as you can.

Regardless -- The Judge Ruled in DNC vs Trump and the Russians - handling, publishing classified information - illegally obtained - is "Free Speech, information,Press" Full Stop..

Thing is .. they knew 2 weeks into the Russiagate fiasco that they had no cause .. "Collusion" never being cause .. so was reliant on Trump either being directly involved in the DNC Hack ..and/or the FB ads -- which turned out to be Truth rather than propaganda .. in every example I have seen.

They knew Trump was not involved in either .. very early on .. at which point there was no longer "Legitimate Authority" to continue the investigation .. yet the sordid and costly affair went on for years .. a kangaroo clown show of ghastly proportions.

We would need a fundamental change in our system to have more parties, I think. This winner-take-all model has to go first. Give us proportional representation that gives minorities a voice and forces the winners of elections to form coalitions like we see in practically every other democracy on earth. The change in this country would be astounding, I think. We would see just how different a democracy could be and still be a democracy. More of a democracy, in fact, since the current approach of having angry minorities turn out in droves to elect politicians who appeal to negative emotions because they're more motivating than positive emotions discourages voter turnout and too often gives us vocal minority rule rather than majority rule and, most importantly, consensus and compromise. If this is a democracy, we should not hate both parties or be voting for what we perceive to be the lesser evil, voting against the one and only other party rather than for the party we want.

I 100% agree. We need the fundamental change, and the sooner the better. The 2 party winner take all system is antithetical to democracy. It is a duopoly of power, just a step away from a monopoly of power. It just barely gives enough of an illusion of democracy to keep people placated, but it is just the passing of the scepter back and forth between two power blocks that have had many decades to accumulate massive political power. They have crushed any means to challenge their rule.

aye .. dirty deeds .. in league with those boys over in the Al Qaeda - ISIS camp - hand in hand with the Brother El Saud did they try to bring the glorious Jihad to these nations .. rid them of the Evil Secularism - and bring the land to Strict Sharia - under the great mother of ideology that drives these Militant Extremist Islamist Salafi groups .. trying to bring Bin Laden's vision into fruition.

Job # 1 Rid the Holy land of the cursed secularism .. the infidels are one thing .. Secularism in a Muslim nation is a cancer from within .. must be removed at all cost.

Job# 2 - punish the Infidel USA and friends -- rid them from the middle east .. and spread the glorious faith.

So lets check the scorecard. Afghanistan Blessed BE .. a new Islamic State Libya -- Secular nation into Jihadist vunderland .. excellent .. bin Ladin Smiling already. Yemen .. .. wasn't secular but not the right kind of Muslim .. a work yet in progress .. lovely

Iraq .. one of the two main evil Secular nations in the Middle East - Syria being the other. Iraq transformed into a Jihadist Vunderland .. but the effort looks to be going south ... while not the dreaded secularism .. the wrong kind of Muslim in charge.. but a success story in any case.

Now Syria .. a valiant effort -- the troops managed to take over most of Syria .. creating a new Islamic State .. lasted for 3 years till those Damn Russians intervened .. propped up the evil Assad .. Shining star of Secularism - Liberty - Freedom among Muslim Nations in the ME..
Those freaken women .. short skirts .. no permission from man needed to educate .. drive cars -- drink alcohol and dancing at bars - to western music - proper bathing suites .. foregoing the halloween costume .. can go out without male relative .. a horrible atrocity I tell ya mate .. Christian Churches .. Jewish Synagoge .. the awful horror knows few limits This Evil Assad has Christian Generals in his army .. and I am afraid it will continue .. the mission a failure . Damn Russians. but hey .. ya can't win em all.

Now Job 2.. big smiles .. with a few adherents .. few planes into buildings .. brought USA to its knees .. "Give me Liberty or Give me Death" those secular values .. down the toiled ... So frightened and afraid of them Terrorists .. the risk of harm in the US 400 times Less than Walking .. got them crawling on knees .. begging to trade security for liberty .. done true mate .. Now their Patriotic Duty to give up liberty for some vision of temporary security .. no guff .. call it the "Patriot act" .. Obama later changing the name to the equally Orwellian doublespeak "Freedom Act" har har .. get it .. the Act which takes away your freedoms called the "Freedom Act"

    Tally Ho

The entire Assange affair demonstrates the complete disregard the US government has for the rule of law and constitutional principles. It shows how the British and US governments are truly criminal organizations.

I would say it is elites everywhere that completely disregard laws and rights when it challenges their grasp on power. The US, Britain, Russia, France, Australia, Canada, etc etc... All of the ruling class of politicians and oligarchs disregard freedoms when they feel threatened. Their time is coming to an end though, thanks to people like Assange and others. The Epsteins of the world are losing their grip on power as people slowly wake up. I think even the elites in China will be seeing a lot more resistance soon.

Maybe some of those laws need to be rewritten to prevent something like this from happening again.
Some judges need to be held responsible for their decisions.

I think we can all agree that what he did is something very similar to what a journalist might do.

Maybe he is targeted because his website dealt specifically with leaked secret material, and the entire documents were made public, not just the relevant facts.

A journalist might only do something like this once or twice in their career, but that is what Assange focused on, and made it a phenomena.

It's enough to make you vomit.
First of all the issue is (actually) that of the UK and its lack of Democracy. It is no secret that the US is a cesspool of Fascism but that the UK would drop its trousers and bare its buttocks for a good rogering from Washington is another thing altogether.

Secondly, what "theft" is it that Julian Assange is to have committed?

    Eben.

    Correct.
A series of crimes against humanity have been committed. Those are the facts. Name a war-criminal that wasn't exposed by documents and witnesses. You cannot name even one. Why? Because if they weren't ferreted out you (or I) wouldn't know anything about them.

    Whose government is that?

This is completely ridiculous. Manning was no Russian hacker and it wouldn't matter if he were.
What laws are broken by publishing facts?

As Vis has eloquently pointed out Julian Assange is not a US citizen nor is he in the US. This means that he is not under the U.S. jurisdiction. So, you have thoroughly disproved your own logic.

    Obviously.
