So outside of the obvious ruling here that women can no longer throw their dead babies in the dumpster and must cremate or bury them the bigger take away as that two of the liberal Justices did not vote with the far left ones.

Breyer and Kagan voted with the conservatives.

This does not bode well for those of you hoping that Roe v. Wade makes it through the Court.

Except roe and v Casey both acknowledge the fetus as a human being with rights. It's just that until viability they dont eclipse the mothers. Neither roe nor Casey on a plain reading allow you to treat the fetus differently than any other corpse.
This is knocking things back in line with roe, not away from it.

You'll notice what hasn't changed is up to viability abortion.

 

To be fair in reporting. The USSC did not overturn the part of the law of that banned sex selective abortion requirements.

There is no writing on the wall. If you reverse Roe v Wade we will go back to acting like a third world nation for a few years until the horror stories get out and governmental abuse starts becoming prevalent and then it will reverse. While it sucks some of you want to imprison women over settled science for a brief time of history is cruel, it will only be temporary.

I appreciate the link, but after reading the article I don't see anything to suggest Thomas "also wants to ban birth control" (as you claimed.) He seemed to be mentioning birth control only in the context of the old Planned Parenthood / Margaret Sanger / eugenics argument, but I didn't see anything to lead me to believe he wants to "ban" birth control.

Banning birth control would be insanity IMHO, but I don't know of any Republicans who are pushing for that.

If it was up to me, birth control would be available over-the-counter to all women, and would be free for women on welfare.

It’s the obvious next step — I agree that if they want to outlaw abortion we will definitely have to do something to prevent unwanted pregnancies as those pregnancies would typically (not always, there are exceptions) result in children that are also unwanted and most likely born into poorer households. Children raised in this environment typically are much more prone to be on government assistance and to become intimate with the judicial system from an early age.

The same people mandating all children must be born are typically against programs to educate about safe sex and programs to care for the children that will be produced.

It has everything to do with it. In fact it is laws like these that will end recreational baby killing. If a pregnant woman is attacked or otherwise harmed and her baby dies, the offender can be charged with killing the unborn, taken in steps with additional laws, like the Indiana law, that will create personhood for the unborn through legal precedent. This will make nearly impossible to undo the personhood because it will be attached to a string of laws, not just a visit to the murder clinic...

 

Yeah, 98% chance of victory.
