More men in this nation are raped every day than women. If you think our prison industry has the high moral ground, you haven't given it enough thought.

Billions and Billions and Billions of dollars flow every day from the incarceration of 2.3 million people in America.

I'd change a number of things, starting with focusing on Restitution rather than Retribution, and yes, that includes prison industry. First thing is to figure who the victim is for the crime being charged and what it would take to make them whole for their loss, plus penalty. And where there is no victim, there is no crime.

Once a prisoner has repaid their debt to their victim, hopefully in the meantime they have also learned a marketable skill and then go out and make an honest living.

Clearly this won't work for violent crimes, but separating out property crimes from violent crimes and not holding these two populations together is a very important reform.

Union Prison Guard Unions vote Democrat so there is probably no room in your skull for sensible reform.

The pension tsunami will change California's structure for ever. There's going to come a time soon when they simply can no longer pay out on the ridiculous pensions and will be forced to slash them all. The upheaval will be colossal. There's going to be a lot of former Government employees in the streets with torches and pitchforks.

Didn't need to expand. I understood what you were talking about. I still stand by what I said.

I think its time to start getting more to the point here. We both know that you are talking about Republicans vs Democrats. ;)

Let me ask you something. What percentage of the white population in the US do you think is racist?

    Gladly.

You (Post 112): “We were discussing Kamala's policy stance weren't we?”

Me (Post 115): “Specifically her stance regarding private prisons and their use of slave labor. Not illegal immigration.”

You (Post 118 ): ”They can't be separated.”

I could see her doing something like that.... I believe I’ve seen her question people for nominations and hearings around 3-5 times she is overly hostile and argumentative. I don’t think she stands a chance, in fact I’ve placed a bet Elizabeth Warren will do better in the primaries than Kamala Harris.

So then you shouldn’t say you have no problem with private prisons because private prison corporations are in opposition to everything you posted here.

I thought he brought up a good point that people are being thrown in jail to help others bottom line.

Why are you OK with the mass rape that occurs every day in US prisons? Private Prisons do not enjoy the qualified immunity that government prisons do.

And if he was the first to do so, that might have been impressive.

So now you are claiming there’s no prison rape in private prisons?

Opposing private prisons doesn’t mean that one supports every aspect of state-run prisons. It means you oppose rich *******s making money off of slave labor.

Mass rape is merely an "aspect"? It's amazing what you folks are fine with.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could express yourself in a manner not so vulgar that the autocesor renders you communication gibberish?

Why are you lying about me?

Lying about me, constantly deflecting. My friend, maybe debating is too much for your intellect.

No, they are about the same. The difference is that private companies should not be making a profit off of prisoners and their slave labor.

It doesn’t save tax money. Study after study show they actually cost more. But private prison corporations are good at bribing politicians...sorry, I forgot to be PC, I mean “they are good at lobbying”.

No. I asked about your stance on the mass rapes that occur in US prisons and you reduced the issue to an "aspect".

I also pointed out that given the mass rape in US prisons that Public Prisons have no moral authority over anyone.

I stated that I am very much for prison industry, I think those convicted of crimes should make restitution to the victim and that where there is no victim, there should be no crime. And once the convict has worked long enough to pay back the crime plus penalty, that they should be released, hopefully having learned a marketable job skill in the process.

And of course this is for property type crimes, not violent crimes and that these two very different populations should not be incarcerated together.

And I pointed out that it was sad that you are unable to express yourself without vulgarity so pronounced that the autocensor turns your response into gibberish.
