This will be like the other 500 large scale gun grabs Obama has ordered: Nothing will happen.

Have you seen the UFC? MMA without the gloves, without the ring, without the referee , without the tapout stoppage , you are going to get killed without weapons if a mans will is to kill you. You can never regulate a mans will to not kill. Therefore all mans God given right is to defend oneself. A gun is the equalizer for the old, the weak, the not rage filled homicidal. How dare you try to regulate the self defense right all men have? What makes you an authority on how gun control will be different in this country at this time? You know the history of gun control world wide right? You have heard statistics on the drop in crime rate as concealed carry permits rise in current American cities right? But somehow your expertise is so amazing it counters all know statistics on the matter.

Why would anyone want to kill someone without a gun? it will save lives, bringing the statistics on all deaths down.

That is a tough one. But you really need to be a history buff to understand the region. The beginning of the first world war was there. The Partisans are a huge part of their history just as the rebels of Americas revolution.

So you never seen a man in rage? Who is to guess to what they rage for. So many reasons , and madness is common enough. The big question is ,why would you need to disarm the innocent?

I almost hope Obama tries to ram this through, because Baby Boomers make up a force of 80,000,000 voters in this country. Sure, a predictable number of that 80 million are liberals, but it never fails that in any society, the older a person gets, the more conservative his viewpoint. I'm Boomer-age and I can tell you this -- I don't know anybody over 50 years old who can stand this rotten, America-hating, socialist dictator.

He'd better keep his mouth shut and enjoy the America-destroying "legacy" he already has, and he'd better call off that hyperlib, New York socialist (*)(*)(*)(*)(*), Maloney and her unconstitutional "Firearms Risk Protection Act" scam. There's no way in hell she can ram that thing through the Congress like those hyperliberal Democrat bastards rammed through Obamacare!

    2. Posse Commitatus prevents such from occurring, because it is a breath away from tyranny. No, it would not be welcomed nor legal. That is up to the state and I to deal with.

The Regime has so little regard for the rule of law that any abuse is possible, likely, and happening somewhere.

Dude, it can't be done, the scale of it, time, money, and energy is beyond any believable amount of effort.

BuddaBing! I'm either "old" or close to it........ my guns are a large part of MY enjoyment. I own 7 acres of a small mountain which is my pistol range. 2 miles down the road is a 200 yard rifle range, I hit them both almost daily. They "think" they're going to take that away from me? a9930d3c9203649062c5afbce384b31e.jpg I tink they need to worry about the monkeys running wild in the street over me.

Aw, bull(*)(*)(*)(*)! C'mon, we're both old guys, right? What are you going to fill your hands with when the thugs come to kick your doors down and break into your house? Make yourself helpless if that's what you think is good for you, but leave the rest of us and our Constitutional 2nd Amendment rights alone! Hint: do you want to rely on the same idiots that gave us Obamacare, the IRS, and VA hospitals to protect you on short notice when the (*)(*)(*)(*) hits the fan?! Do you want to have to hold your breath waiting for the Keystone Cops to respond to a 911 call?!

Someone being unable to manage their own finances is not the same as not being able to understand confusing bureaucratic red tape. It is no different than saying those that require H&R Block to file correct taxes should not have access to firearms.

Should the elderly be prohibited from having access to motor vehicles as well? If they have undiagnosed mental problems, there is nothing to stop them from driving their vehicle into a crowd of people for whatever reason.

Where does such a mentality stop?

Nearly every gas station in the united states sells matches and lighters.

Your point being what precisely? If it can be used to injure or kill another person, it does not matter if it has any other uses. Demolition charges can either be used to safely bring a building down in a controlled manner, or be converted into a bomb that will kill hundreds of people.

So are machetes, and they are legally classified as agricultural tools. Being from South Africa, you should be well aware of both of those facts.

The same applies to rat poison. And yet it is sold freely, despite the harm it poses if misused.

That advice is no better than the recommendation made to women that effective self defense is vomiting in front of their attacker, or telling them that they are sick.

Precisely what are you trying to say? That firearms ownership will encourage acts of vigilantism?

And if there were no diseases, no one would ever get sick.

    Circular logic.

Animal cruelty is failure to maintain population size, letting them grow out of control, and starve to death in harsh winters because they have prematurely exhausted their food supplies.

Animals kill other animals. It is no different.

That would ultimately depend on who is being killed, and for what reason.

Not all life is precious. Those who waste their lives at the expense of others do not deserve special consideration for second chances.

Is the bear going to shoot you out of malice, spite, or simple boredom?

Because there are those in this world that seek to harm others for their own benefit, and they have no desire to benefit themselves through legal channels.

The FBI reports that homicides in the united states are at their lowest level in years.

Straight from Right-Wing Central. You people actually buy into their trash? So sad to see sheeple display their source of fear and hate and not even know it only harms their own credibility.

I found this except from the article seemed especially notable:

This reminds me of a famous remark made by Martin Niemöller, who was a german pastor imprisoned by the Nazis:

"First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak out for me."

Crime, immaturity, and foolishness are a young mans game. By your logic, nobody under 40 should have a firearm, or a car.

I don't think it's a good idea for an Alzheimer's patient to have a semi-automatic Uzi. There are an estimated 5.1 million Alzheimer's patients in the U.S. over the age of 65. I suspect that most people with such patient's in the home get the weapons out of the house or locked up in a safe to which the patient does not know the combination.

But he/she would remember where he put it, how to load it and who they wanted to shoot. Go figure.

How many people over 65, with Alzheimer's, have shot people with an Uzi? Sounds like a solution looking for a problem.

You would be surprised. It's a motor memory skill, which lasts a lot longer than conscience memories. Alzheimer's patients remember how to tie their shoes longer than they remember their kids names. They also get very frustrated with their care givers. My former MiL gave her husbands guns to my son when her husband developed Alzheimer's. He was a WWII combat vet. and remembered the war better than 5 years ago.
