Sad that Abortion is approved even when born. I have long feared this would happen. That women delivering the child could opt for slaying their baby.

Folks, let me explain. I used to post on AOL. There was this young girl in late high school who told her story to the AOL forum. She was scheduled to be aborted but her mother decided at the last moment to deliver but put her up for adoption. She loves her parents that raised her. She turned into a top ranked student. She then went to Texas university for her education there. She became a TV News person. She got married. AOL killed off the forum and I lost track of her. I was able to talk to others on the AOL forum by e mail and they told me she graduated from college and where she went to work.

She so appreciated being allowed to live. She finally met her birth mother and praised her for letting this fine woman live. We used to chat on the AOL site when Clinton was president. I suppose by now she is around close to 40 years old. She is such a sweet person.

I am thankful to her mother who allowed her to live and we got a chance to talk back and forth to her.

    So watch this video.

This is NOT the young TV woman i told you about. But she speaks for the children.

The trick is, a non-doctor can give women late-term abortions now if they think it's for "health reasons". In practice that could be just about anything.
The law also makes it clear in its intent and preamble that women have the right to abort their pregnancies, and that statement doesn't appear to make any exception for late-term.

Not surprising that this is coming out of New York state, the original capital of abortions.

Untrue as it is required to have doctor's consent and the late term abortions are rare since they can only be done in extreme circumstances. You people think you can walk in and get a late term abortion on demand which is untrue..

I didn't see anything in the law that requires doctors to confirm that the abortion is necessary for health reasons.

Yes, these abortion practitioners are working "under the care" of a doctor, but in practice that just means there might be six practitioners in the building and one doctor available on call who never watches most of the procedures or even sees the patients.

You never posted anything in the law, just a chick and a rant. First off federal laws would not permit a woman to have late term abortions on demand..

You're welcome to post the part of the law that requires a doctor to see the woman, if you claim that's the case.

I suspect that this new law has effectively legalized de facto partial-birth abortions.

Since abortion has declined I think you are slitting your wrist over nothing.

Wow! Hyperbole and straw man based in a.......wait for it.....YouTube.

You know why the so called pro life lot like videos don’t you?

They are a real “come in sucker” ploy. Easy to put together, nearly impossible to verify and less truthfulness than a second hand car salesman in a recession, in Venezuela

Feeds right into world view bias

Now where did you get the **** about “after birth abortion”?

"Health reasons" is just a vague excuse to do it.

Pretty sure none of these abortion practitioners (remember, we're not talking about doctors) have to worry about prosecution if they make a misdiagnosis or questionable diagnosis. We're talking people more on the level of skilled nurses, not someone who is truly equipped to make a medical diagnosis.

And it can be done at ANY TIME in the pregnancy.

NYS has just given the go ahead, the green light, for abortion clinics to have free reign.

The law is practically saying "late term abortion is legal for any reason" without actually saying it.

Mate - you haven’t seen the good arguments yet

The same posters who are claiming to be “pro-life” are often the ones decrying maternity leave, child support, child vaccinations, and believe it or not are into blaming an 11 year old for having sex with her grandfather

There is a term for that

Because the new law allows a trained practitioner who's not a doctor to do it, and make the individual decision without a doctor.

The nurse will ask the woman "You wouldn't feel like living if you weren't able to get an abortion, would you?"
Then she just checks a box on a form and she can do it.
(i.e. "mental health" is included in health)

They can think up all sorts of excuses to do it. This loophole has already been abused in other states. Now they don't even require a doctor to do it.

They're going to train these nurses how to spot things and then play those up as health issues. Doubt they're going to send away a patient paying thousands of dollars.

Nope the law requires one doctor to order consultation to allow the abortion. An LPN can do the procedure not an RN.What people do in their decisions is their business, not yours and damn sure not a politicians...

What does that actually mean? That the doctor just fills out a piece of paper? Does the doctor even have to see her?

Better yet, how many has he assisted to live?

By that I mean put in the hard yards of physically caring for a severely disabled child?

All too often though the anti$abortion is simply a “blame the woman” game

I did read it, but the way the law is worded, with so many words and different sections referring to other sections, it would be very difficult for most people here to be able to make sense out of it.

Personally I have raised 4 kids. But what other people do in their lives I have no desire to control.
