One of the best movies ever made. It's even better today than when it released. The smart couple seemed pretty damn miserable in the opening scenes where they show you how society became stupid. Maybe there's a middle ground between the two? Boebert's family certainly isn't going to birth beyond their means. The "right time financially" as the smart couple refers to is certainly once your mum is a sitting Congresswoman with a guaranteed pension.
You think they got pregnant because they didn't know that was the result or didn't understand birth control?
Forced sex.... between two people clearly already engaged in sex?
The point is politocal ideology and agenda, not geography.b
Going back to my first post, I talked about family values. I guess I was wrong about what that meant. I'm not against premarital sex, and I'd be a hypocrite if I said that teenage sex was wrong. But I find it hard to stand alongside a woman who rails against sex ed funding and clinics helping young girls with birth control. We know kids are having sex so why not arm them with protection and information? Clearly, this wasn't available in the Boebert home (unless it was a planned pregnancy).
Obviously, society is in grave danger from Hunter Biden's laptop, and not the dumbing down of humanity a la "Idiocracy".
I'm sure that they did know that sex had something to do with getting pregnant and having babies. I don't think that they understood everything which would be involved in a full sex education. And that's thinking the best of them. The other options are. A. 1. Tyler knowingly had sex with her despite knowing that an early teen pregnancy can be highly detrimental to the mother and can kill her. He deliberately wanted a baby out of wedlock. 2. The teenage girl did the exact same. or B. Tyler raped her. Do you like the other options better? West Virginia and Colorado have completely different ideologies and agendas.
No doubt it's more dangerous(see: @Bowerbird graph). I just think that the adolesence of youth will have them doing well, stupid things. And a mass incarceration of the youth for doing what's more or less exploring their own bodies is probably not the right approach. Not to say that I have the answers, because I don't. To me, it feels like it's something that's going to have to be governed differently than adult sexuality. Precisely because adults know more, and know right from wrong. But two teens going through their emotions and learning about these things for the very first time, they're going to want to try it out. So to me, it just requires a different set of laws, than the one size fits all that we have at the moment. A TLDR, is that I don't see this young man as evil, or the young woman as necessarily idiotic. I see it as the unfortunate reality of hormones, and how we as a society deal with the developing adolescence into full fledged adults is the challenge of the 21st century.
Is that what you think Boebert is against? Protection and information? Why don't you quote what exactly she opposes.
Did I say that? I'm just agog at a group of leftists suddenly becoming Victorians because their hated class enemy is becoming a grandparent. I doubt you've ever leveled this kind of judgement on leftists (or those who support leftists) doing the same thing. Or...maybe I'm wrong and if I do a search I will find a lot of posts from you posting about kids today and how they need to keep it in their pants? What do you think?
She is against sex ed in schools because she thinks it grooms children. She wants to defund planned parenthood because they provide abortions - but that is only 3% of what they do. They are a leader in pregnancy prevention resources and safe sex practices.
Congratulations to her. It's nice to see white people procreating to populate the world with more beautiful white babies because we need those for the diversity's sake.
"had something to do" with getting pregnant? LOL Are you serious? 17 year olds completely and fully understand what sex is and what it leads to. No question Do you have any indication they DIDN'T get full sex-ed? Simply because his mother opposed aspects of the sex ed curriculum, specifically about gay sex for please, you jumping to a whole lot of conclusions. Or.... him and the girl were horny. I think they are silly assumptions. A whole lot of conjecture. Yes, none of which have any bearing on this supposed story other than pointing out the irrationality of liberal ideologies.
Well I has asked you for them, and since you failed to provide them I figured it was a moot point, you were just here to complain about someone you already hate.

I guess like mother like daughter is the moral of this story And the old saying, "Stupid is as Stupid does" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
