Because the KKK is (one) of the militant arms of the democrat party.

    Not unlike antifa.

There is no quandary here-the kill shot was in on those in Hong Kong when the Brits pulled out.

China will swallow them as they have so many in the past.

It should not be seen as leverage against the US because it isn't.

It has more to do with international finance than just your concentric obsession with the USA.

Antifa is being designated as a domestic terror organization in 2019.

Your point is valid ... I think.

Rightwingers used to gleefully point out that the American Communist Party almost everywhere supported the Democrats. (True since 1936, with exceptions where they were strong enough to create a front-group party even more leftwing than the Democrats.) Indeed today you can be an open Communist Party member and also a Democratic Party precinct chair-entity. (An old friend of mine is just that, and in Texas of all places!)

But so what? The Democrats were for union rights and social security, and so were the Communists (union rights in America I mean, not in Communist countries).

It made sense. And when the Cold War began, it's arguable, barely, that the Democrats, or some of them, were marginally less militaristic than the Republicans, less likely to get us into a nuclear war with Mother Russia.

Of course Communists and Klansmen are not really comparable. The former are misguided, but their highest ideals are admirable. Not so the Klan.

So ... we can look at the largest single ethnic pool of anti-Semitism (assuming American Muslims are not yet numerous enough to count) -- and by anti-Semitism I don't mean anyone critical of Israel. That pool is America's Black population, which is, according to Pew, twice or three times as likely to be anti-Semitic as whites, and is overwhelmingly loyal to the Democrats. Louis Farrakhan, who calls Jews 'devils', is not stupid enough to repeat his endorsement of Jesse Jackson which ruined the latter's Presidential bid thirty years ago, but you can bet that none of his flock vote Republican.

Does a Jew-hating Black Muslim vote Democratic because he believes doing so will push forward the day when Jews go to the camps? No. Democrats used to be even more pro-Israel than Republicans. (Until they all died off I would not doubt that some country-club genteel anti-Semitism lingered in certain Republican circles.)

So we have Christian Zionists looking forward to Israel's annexation of the West Bank and the mass expulsion or worse of the indigenous population, and neo-Nazis who are rooting for the other side ... both voting Republican.

Wouldn't life be easy if we could just find the most repulsive human beings, determine how they will vote, and vote the other way?
Just put a plus where they put a minus.

But as you say, we can't get very far by doing that. Why people vote the way they do is, if not a mystery, at least a complex subject.

All we can say is, if that terrible group is voting for me, I had better check myself over, look at my political program, see if there is anything discreditable in it or in its language that attracts bad people.

I can't speak for the Democrats, but the Republicans can't coast forever on Abraham Lincoln. [And what a stupid argument -- sorry, it is stupid -- it is to go on and on about the Democrats being the party of slavery. It's understandable as a reaction to Democratic finger-wagging, but absolutely no one, zero, is convinced that what the Democrats did in 1860 or even 1948, has the slightest bearing on what they do and are now. It's the absolute lamest argument imaginable. Liberal Democrats who were for Black rights allied with Southern Democrats who were against them, in order to get Social Security for both Black and white. The USA allied with Joseph Stalin. So? Politics is not for nice people. You want angels, go to heaven.]

It wouldn't hurt every Republican politician and would-be politician to take a close look at their program and practice and see if there is the slightest tinge of anything that would make a KKKer think, 'Ah, a dog-whistle!" that can be changed. Maybe we should have a plank in our platform calling for mass execution of all neoNazis and Klansmen ... although that would probably violate some tedious article of the Constitution.

My own experience with American Republicans, both passive ones (my family in Texas) and active ones (the Tea Party in Northern California) convinces me that the average white Republican is no more or less 'racist' (assuming that word has any meaning anymore) than the average white person of equivalent social level.

And the active Republicans would kill to get a good, qualified Black candidate for President, preferably a Black woman. I recommend any ambitious Black person who can assume the right political beliefs, get into the Republican Party and put yourself forward as a candidate. They'll fall all over you. Please don't be an elastic-snapper like Herman Cain or a God-created-the-world-in-six days person like that brain surgeon though. It might not hurt to be gay, in fact. Republicans have fallen in love -- not literally! -- with that poor gay Asian living in Portland whom the white boys of anti-Fa like to beat up (he must have masochist tendencies).

Of course the dishonest demagogues on the Left will use anything to attack us with, but why make ourselves easy targets?

We should just argue the issues. What discreditable groups support which party, who did what to whom a hundred years ago, should be left to social scientists and historians.

Neither of them are national organizations.
There's probably some sociological theory to explain it, but neither Anti-Fa and the Klan have a the sort of elaborated ideology -- answers for everything -- that most national organizations have, organizations like the Libertarian Party or the Democratic Socialists of America. They're based on attitudes, impulses, and are probably more like social groups than genuine political groups. Drinking (or smoking) clubs, organized around a strong male personality.

A national organization has a program that everyone must subscribe to, dues to pay, regular meetings to go to, lectures by their ideologists, a journal. Neither anti-Fa nor the Klan are into that sort of thing. It's sort of above their pay-grade.

What are you talking about? He just said he hoped Xi could end this quickly and humanly and offer to have a sit down personal meeting to discuss this issue. This is a million times more then the prior admin did with Iran and the rest of the nations during the Arab spring that lead to the rise of isis

I just love how the republicans always hit up the two groups as if they are an organization of immense power and organization to make a slur on democrats.

Both a threat and an opportunity. Much more of an opportunity.

Armed Left wingers, especially low-intelligence ones like many Anti-Fa supporters, are a gift from heaven.

Most average Americans don't like the idea of street violence, of people being physically attacked for their political views. It's their hearts we
    have to win.

In the past, it was us scary rightwingers who were seen with our AR15s.
We didn't attack other people for having rallies or marches, but we sort of looked scary.
Now Anti-Fa has come along. One of them even acted out the fantasies of the others in Tacoma.

    Excellent!

I wish harm to no one, but ... if you read some day that a Republican grandmother has had her skull smashed by a concrete-filled Coca Cola can thrown by one of these scum while she was at a patriotic parade ... pray for her, but know that we will benefit enormously from that. It sounds cold-blooded to say it, and the prediction is not the wish, but this is war.

In a war you must exercise fire discipline. Winning moral supremacy is a hundred times as important as winning some immediate tactical encounter. If one of us kills an Anti-Fa in anything like obvious total unavoidable self-defense ... they will have a martyr.

Look how they've taken Michael Brown, a doped up thug who tried to snatch a policeman's gun, where the truth of the matter was obvious even to Obama's Justice Department ... and now he's an innocent little boy, shot dead by a mean old racist white policeman, as explained by many leading Democratic Presidential candidates who certainly know better. It's unfair, but we have to take into account the lying depravity of the mass media and of the politicians and ideologues on the other side and avoid giving them any opportunity to portray us as the violent ones.

So, go on Anti-Fa! Don't be afraid! So many white supremacists and neo-Nazis out there for you to 'deal with' -- 63 million of us! -- and the only good Nazi is a dead one.

Not sure of the point you are making here. How is the Klan a 'slur on Democrats'? I thought it was your side who used them as a slur on us.
And for that matter, how is AntiFa a slur on Democrats? You do condemn them, don't you, just as we condemn the Klan?

Trump resists aides’ pressure to back Hong Kong protesters
    https://www.politico.com/story/2019/08/14/trump-hong-kong-protesters-1463605

"Donald Trump’s top aides are urging him to back Hong Kong’s pro-democracy protesters, but the president isn’t interested, multiple people familiar with the administration’s internal debates say.

In recent days, national security adviser John Bolton, China hands at both the National Security Council and the State Department, and several economic advisers have pushed for a more assertive posture on the Hong Kong demonstrations, which have paralyzed the former British colony and roiled markets."

I think it's hilarious the OP began by flame baiting "leftists" only to have the Narcissist-in-Chief be the one who will not champion the cause of the Hong Kong protesters. Classic fail.

I don't think Trump did it deliberately -- does he do anything with 'deliberation'? -- but in his campaign, he apparently sensed that much of the Republican base is in the process of a sea-change with respect to intervening militarily all over the world. (It's mainly their sons and daughters who take the bullets and IEDs, while the other side's kids go to college. Or at least that's how they see it.) (On the other hand, if you get your leg blown off fighting for ... your country? ... you at least get socialized medicine.)

The same thing was/is happening with respect to a slavish worship of the free market. The Republican voting class was beginning to see that their interests were not the same as the Republican donor class.

Among ordinary people, these things are never worked out like mathematical propositions. No one makes a big leap when they change their mind.

It's just a slow attitude change ... a feeling after you attend the fifth or tenth memorial parade for a flag-draped coffin, that, maybe ... maybe ... this isn't like Iwo Jima or Pork Chop Hill or even Operation Desert Storm -- (which was a hunt not a fight). The place where your neighbor's son got killed doesn't even have a name you can remember.

Of course there's those Russian Communists ... got to stand up to them.... or ... wait... they're not Communists any more ... in fact, didn't that guy Putin put all the queers in jail? Or something like that. More complicated than it used to be.

And as you drove your pickup, now fifteen years old but with a new one -- Japanese of course -- out of your price range, over the cracked highway to the unemployment office, your refrigerator-manufacturing job having been exported abroad ... you wonder if maybe it's no longer morning in America.

But you're damned sure not going to vote Democratic. They think you're a 'deplorable' after all, clinging bitterly to your God and your guns.

Which you sure as hell do. You're not going to vote for the party of the flag-burners and the city-burners, of heavily-muscled 'transgenders' winning the women's athletic meets, the millionaire knee-takers, the Nike flag-removers. Not in a million years.

But a guy like Trump -- not a slick Washington establishment type -- already rich so he doesn't need to steal -- speaks his mind and gets the libs upset, ha ha ... well, why not?

Perhaps Trump picked up on this, maybe at a sub-conscious level.

Look at the thread about Tulsi Gabbard. I can't figure out who admires her more, peacenik Lefties or non-interventionist Righties. Major Gabbard too, with a tour in Iraq. Things are happening below the surface of American politics.

I'm not optimistic about the long term, as I think we're in a death spiral culturally. The future belongs to the Politically Correct and their ever-needy voting base.

But ... in the meantime, it's going to take some doing to get the people whose children supply the IED-fodder out on the streets chanting USA! USA!

Unless the American people are chomping at the bit for war & protesting in the streets to go to war, and young people are enlisting in hordes to ship over and fight to the last man against Red China this is going to go just like Assad, who is still standing, untouched without a worry:

There will be a whole lotta hot air with the infobabes moaning & weeping, and getting the same zero results with Hong Kong crushed and totally dominated under the hard fist of Red China.

And I wonder do the British people want to turn back the clock and go to war to help their former colony?

I see a Democrat in the picture you posted. They started the KKK. This thread is about Democrats and your hatred for the flag. Thanks for proving the point.

I want you to do a little introspection here. Why can't you be honest about this?

I have to be short, I'll be out of commission for 12 hours. There's a reason the KKK tends strongly Republican.

In American politics any faction that wants to have influence anytime soon needs to choose one of the two parties, and attempt to steer it's policies from the inside.

So why would the KKK tend Republican? Well, the Republicans have an immigration platform that would, no doubt, keep the country whiter. Second, poor people are disproportionately non-white, so fighting social welfare programs cuts against the interests of non-whites.

    Gotta run.

    Yeah, basically you're right.

The KKK look like being your ordinary small-town good ole boys, in terms of their income and education level.
So they vote the way a lot of ordinary small-town good ole boys vote. Just like your rank-and-file Nation of Islam Jew-hater votes the same way as his Black Christian neighbors vote.

Interestingly, and apropos of nothing, one of Hitler's strongest bases of support, before he took power, was on German university campuses, where the majority of students ranged in political orientation from hard traditional nationalists on out to the Nazis. They moved to the right, and so the Nazis took over the German university students' association a year and a half before Hitler took power in Germany.

You see, educated people always lean to the Left, we're told, but the people telling us this are not educated enough to know a bit of relevant history.

This is so obvious -- even people with extreme views tend to vote like the people around them -- you wonder why all the Lefties shrieking about David Duke etc really believe what they're implying?

Or they stupid or just lying? Probably both.
