    Nah, this is like the threads about the right shooting up mosques, synagogues, black people's churches, and schools.
    Except in those shooting cases, actual people are dying at the hands of the right. If this is all about broad brush painting. As this thread is.

    Actually, Oregon does allow open carry without a permit. Some cities in Oregon ban open carry (6 cities, mainly in Portland area), as well as Multnomah County (the demonstration was in Lane County). However, open carry is still allowed in those cities and Multnomah county with a permit.

    While Harlow Road is semi-busy, it is not a super busy overpass. It is not like a LA overpass. I-105 is just to the south and Beltline Expressway is to the north and most traffic use these 2 routes. Most of the Harlow Road traffic in mainly "local traffic". There are adequate sidewalks and shoulders on both sides on the overpass and there is no major risks of pedestrian/vehicle accidents as long as the protest does not get too large or some guy does not show up with a chainsaw.

    They can not prevent it as open carry is legal in Oregon. Though I would suspect that if the rally/protest got out of hand, the person open-carrying would be under scrutiny and watched closely.

    Close enough to show up in Portland a lot on the weekends.

    I mean they usually just circle you in a large group like a pack of hyenas until you knock one out, but I haven't had one attack me yet that could actually hurt me.

    Being that Oregon is a blue state, I assumed it's gun laws would be the same as California.

    Why do people believe that just because a State's Government is a certain color that the whole State is the same color?

    Lane county (where the protest happened) is a mix of red and blue, but mainly leans blue because of the University of Oregon in Eugene. As you head South from Eugene, the State becomes more "red". Head North, and the State becomes more "blue". Though the State's Government has tried to pass strict gun laws, the State is "red" enough that Oregon has retained most gun rights.

    Yeah was there for two of the free speech marches. Lots of videos of it on youtube.

    One of them they couldn't get to us, so they resorted to just attacking the police, who proceeded to curb stomp them.
