So when asked if your wife can use a gun to defend herself against being beaten and raped, you answered "no thankfully". Im sorry but as a man, that is the weakest thing I believe Ive ever heard a man say. So you are so frightened by guns that you prefer your wives to be beaten raped and possibly murdered because you think them having a gun is somehow more dangerous. Holeeeeee ****!!! Are all aussie men like this?

Women are more at risk when there are more firearms

wrong women are 100% less likely to be unable to defend themselves against beatings, murder and rape than a woman who owns a firearm. There are countless exanples posted here ad nauseum.

More evidence that Americans are wrong when they think the only way to defend yourself is with a gun

Nah! Waiting to see what you come up with to validate YOUR claim that women are unable to defend themselves here

It's the heads of dumb assed yanky gun lovers that put the right to bear arms above the right to live free of fear that need to be normalised. Do Not say you live without fear BECAUSE of guns.

Guns don't kill people, people kill people with guns, Australian's don't need guns to be men, we ARE men with or without guns .

Every day Australians are proving this and our stance to make our country one of the safest on earth shows that if real men stand together we are stronger than any association who are fooling so many pathetic minded people.

hhahaha... some men, they prefer their wives to be raped rather than let her decide for herself whether or not she wants to defend herself with a gun. Your country is no more safe than any other. If a rapist wants to rape a woman in australia he can do so with fear or being shot by a woman who is carrying. Thats ****ing pathetic.

The pathetic thing is the argument that having a gun is the determinant of manliness LMAO Any Dick can buy a gun, it's a sign of weakness not strength.

Thats your dumbass straw man. Only you keep saying that. A gun can be used for defense. The manliness in australias case is the fact they prefer their wives be raped over letting her CHOOSE for herself how she wants to defend herself not whether they own a gun or not. A gun doesnt make you a man, defending your wife from being raped does. Yackkkk....I cant believe there are men out there. Its so so...pathetically weak.

Our women DID choose for themselves and your pathetic attempt to belittle us for having the balls to stand up to the little boys from the gun lobby. Women in Australia resoundingly voted for our GUN CONTROL ,not disarming like you say it is because you don't have the balls to face the truth.

I am a gun owner and I know what is and what is not about our gun laws and I know that most of the garbage the NRA publish.

hajah here in America we let our women decide how to defend themselves. Our woman decided to be strong and not be victims. In Australia they call defensless people quite often...victims. Also spare us the you own a gun argument...puh lease.

Was there supposed to be something? Its pretty cut and dry. I prefer my wife to defend herself against assault, rape and murder. You prefer yours to use kah ra tay and see how that goes. Did I get any part of that wrong?

A little, yes. I choose to live in a civilised society that exists under law. A society where we don't have to worry if the person next to us is packing a gun. A society where our woman can feel that their concerns for the safety of their children are more important than fluffing up the testosterone levels of their men.
A society where if you fall, even if through their own silly fault we are big enough, have broad enough shoulders to help each other out.
A society where we are confident enough in our government that we don't feel we need armed militia to defend ourselves from our own citizens.
A society where we can walk tall in the knowledge that when ever it came to physical force or intelligence we have always punched well above our weight.
A society where we are proud that we have grown into the great free democracy we are without having to declare war on ourselves.

Yes I am extremely proud of our great nation where despite our small population and remoteness we are a significant force in the world.

You keep straw manning back to testosterone. The issue in a nutshell. In australia if a rapist gets hold of a woman such as your wife, she is going to be his victim. Her choice to defend herself was made by others. Here in America our women (my wife) will decide for themselves whether or not to shoot the rapist in the face. Tell us how women in Australia will defend themselves from rape or assault. What are their options? Enlighten us.

Talk about flogging a dead horse, the poor "defending myself" horse has been whipped to death .

It is attitude that creates the problem. It's your attitude to self defence, law and order and your obsession with individual rights which creates the spawning grounds for what you fear. It is a self fulfilling prophecy .You create the society that provides what you need.
We created a society based on the rule of law and you have a society based on the rule of the gun. Violence breeds violence.
