There is a few trials moving forward in Michigan now. Hopefully convictions result and the penalties are severe enough to prevent others to commit this crime.

I get a bit tired of being advised by various persons on this site to 'educate myself' as if I'm some kind of moron. My comment is that genital mutilation is genital mutilation, whether female or male, so perhaps you'd be so kind as to 'educate me' as to where I've got it wrong? No hurry though, because I won't be holding my breath for an answer.

And even if most muslims reject FGM, you can deny that some hadith encourage to FGM.

So you probably think that it is a false hadith and it is honnorfull to you, but this hadith still exist and some muslims seems to think it's a true hadith and they should apply it.

 

Muhammed didn't forbid FGM.. just like Jesus didn't forbid slavery.

The wording of the hadith is "if you must, take only a little".

 

I'm not christian, however remember that Jesus claimed that his kingdom was not of this land but in the heaven. That's the basis of secularism who exist for centuries in Europe. Even if kings were often considered as king from divine right, they didn't had authority in religion, and religious had rarely an authority on people (even if some bishop were the lords of many parts of countries).

This hadith is consired as saheeh by Al Albaani, but it's not obvious it is considered as saheeh by everybody.

It's obvious that a part of the muslim world practice it not anymore, but a large part do it, and not only in Africa, it happens to in indonesia and malaysia.

Why are some people so afraid to admit this is a muslim problem? Why so eager to vilify "Africa," but not islam?
