The Bible is very clear on its teaching regarding homosexuality. Click here for a list of Bible verses that deal with the subject. ... and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men ...

One very important item from his link

The Catholic Church has been known to be wrong, the idea of writing it's teachings in stone is absurd.

All of the arguments against homosexual acts are open to interpretation. I find that much of the argument goes back to Genesis and "go forth and be fruitful". For many that means get out there and procreate but I disagree. If a farmer puts too many animals in his pastures or plants his crops too densely he is not being "fruitful" but is in fact being just the opposite. I find that the passages dealing with homosexuality are actually against the act because it can't produce offspring, being "fruitful". If that is the objection then any act that provides sexual gratification without the intent to procreate is a mortal sin.

During Biblical times reproduction was very important for the survival of races. Those were some violent times. You even had Moses admonishing his sons for not committing genocide. It is understandable that they'd put a high premium on procreating and would make homosexuality taboo particularly since due to war after war after war there weren't enough men to go around. Why do you think polygamy was OK?

Didn't Jesus go around stoning homosexuals during His ministry on Earth?

Those in OT times did not have a differentiation between real homosexuality and bacchanalia - basically giving over to self gratification. The story of Sodom and Gomorrah is one of rape, not the love and dedication of two people for each other.

Former Archbishop Simms and other theologians have pointed out that the dedication of two people does not run afoul of the message of the OT.

I think it's interesting that after the escape of Lot and the loss of his wife, Lot had drunken sex with his daughters, giving birth to linneages blessed by god.

Overall, the claim that the laws of Leviticus portray God's view hits me as highly doubtful. And, this isn't the only area where views have changed over time. The social and religious position of women in Biblical times was considered religiously correct and are today seen as unacceptable - at least without modern spin in interreting the Bible.

You are conflating several issues trying to put them all in the same box to justify your behaviors.
The way God organized man in his image, male and female suggests that God had a wife. For God is either male or female and the Bible says He is male. This goes against much of Christendom as well as Judaism too making God like a human being. But, that is just what they are, The Father and The Son. Resurrected perfect human beings. But, I digress now. So, we are made in our Heavenly Parent's image, male and female to procreate the race. Whether people have children or not isn't the sin. Never has been. Abraham was Abram before his wife Sarah had Issac at a very old age. Neither of them were sinners because they couldn't have children. There was no law from God that told people they are sinners if they can't have children. So, your logic is faulty on that one.

There is nothing in the Old Testament that explains the reason for homosexuality being a sin. But, it was a sin at Sodom and Gammorrah as well as later in the 5 books of Moses. The answer is that it goes against nature and this is explained in the New Testament such as in Romans Chapter 1. Verse 24 starts this off explaining homosexual acts are lustful, which is a sin and dishonors their own bodies (temples). Verse 25 goes on that homosexuals by doing so were liars and for that cause turned to vile affections in verse 26. In verse 26 "WOMEN" lied and changed their affections to other WOMEN which is against their natural use of intercourse. And, then the verse states the sin, it's against nature. The nature God instilled in us all, heterosexual behavior and acts. Verse 27 goes on and includes men doing the same thing leaving behind the natural burning lust for women and lying to themselves about having burning lust for other men. Then, the versus afterwards lump homosexual behaviors with the behaviors of other wickedness including murderers. Nothing of these things has anything to do with procreation or Adam and Eve. Homosexual behavior is vile sin. But, so is heterosexual sin also sinful such as adultery, unnatural uses of member parts as well as and sexual behavior outside the boundaries of Marriage. And, that is the key where Adam and Eve are important concerning sexual sin. All sexual behavior must be kept in a marriage between a man and a woman such as Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve. Or Eve and Ellen.

Sodom was condemned for its lack of hospitality; it had nothing to do with homsosexuality. https://classic.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=ezekiel16:49&version=ERV;CEV;NLV;NKJV;NLT

And, according to the fairy tale, it will be rebuilt to all of its former glory so buy a lot there if you want to make a fortune. https://classic.biblegateway.com/verse/en/Ezekiel 16:53

According to the Jewish Babylonian Talmud, Adam had sex with all of the animals and since none of them were good partners the God character created Eve from one of his ribs and then they started having human children. Later on Eve screwed a snake. It seems that she picked up some of Adam’s bad habits.

If one takes the Bible as literal then homosexuality is clearly a sin.

If this offends one, one should view the Bible as mere literature or find another faith.

Islam is even more adamant about this.

    Same choices remain.

No. Jesus would say to a REPENTANT homosexual the same thing He said to the woman caught in adultery, "Your sins are forgiven, go and sin no more."

    The point is this...

If one is reborn of consciousness, in spirit, salvation, enlightenment, this fundamental change destroys perverted behavior and thinking.

It is just an ancient ethnocentric Middle Eastern Jewish religious fairy tale with no relevance to any modern person outside of the clique. But if you can read and comprehend what your read, you will realize that Sodom’s sin was inhospitality. There are numerous stories in the Bible about the requirement to extend hospiality to one’s guests. How many parables did the Jesus character recite about hospitality compared to ones about homosexuality? And remember, Sodom will be restored to its former glory so buy a lot there if you want to get wealthy.

The bible is pretty homophobic to be sure. I honestly have a hard time understanding why a religion can even survive with commands to kill gay people. Its very clear that the bible was written by an ancient culture with some very bad ideas.

    Leviticus 20:13
If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.

The Jesus character liked to wash guys’ feet. That is a biblical metaphor for gentalia.

Jesus never really spoke about homosexuality at all.

He did speak about marriage and the sacred union of it and did reference other writers in the Bible who spoke of it being between a man and a woman.

That is about the closest thing you will find in regards to homosexuality from Jesus.

Fascinating to me that Christianity is so often excoriated for it’s intolerant views of the homosexual lifestyle but Islam is given a pass on this when it is clear that it’s sacred texts make it a capital crime.

And it is adjudicated as such even today in many Muslim countries.

I can’t think of any predominantly Christian country that does this. Nor does the state of Israel.

    Jesus might have been more tolerant of homosexuality but Paul definitely picked up the baton from Leviticus;

Romans 1:27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

I Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men

I Timothy 1: 9 and 10 We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine

    Ha! Thanks! So funny!

I think of Judaism, Christianity and Islam as the Desert Rat **** Religions. Christianity in particular is obscene as it is basically a death cult religion. Sometimes I get depressed that Dick Cheney seems to have lost his nerve after the brilliant false flag 9/11 op. It would have been a great opportunity to glassify the KSA. The radiation would then have led to the mutant sand worms, thereby creating the basis for the future God-Emperor of Dune and fulfilling the Herbert Prophesies....

Funny how both Jesus and Lao Tzu were so psyched about the spiritual benefits of being dirt ass broke. Joel Osteen doesn't often mention the camel and the eye of the needle parable.....

Basic logic shreds these religions simply on a lack of internal consistency, not to mention sheer outright lies such as virgin births and resurrection from the dead, so stupid....

This is the one I have most trouble with from Jesus.

Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.”

This is cult talk but Christians who view the Bible as entirely literal say this is not to be taken literally. But worldwide floods and living in fish for days is.

If you’re a Mormon, you get to be more super creative in your stories.

    Mormons Scientologists Etc ad infinitum

Ya kinda lost me on the worldwide floods and living in fish....

I think I actually read the entire NT at one point and a lot of the OT, none of the K.

There was one story in the NT about the young church. I think it was in the Acts of the Apostles. A guy and his wife joined the church and the church required that they give to the church all of their savings and possessions. Well, then the man and his wife kept a bit back and lied to the church that they had given all they owned. And then they were both struck down dead by the holy spirit.

Seriously, why do folks even bother trying to wrap their heads around this type of drivel and non-sense?

Living in fish and worldwide floods was me being sarcastic.
I have read the entire Bible and the Koran and there is nothing peaceful about the latter while the New Testament kind of goes back and forth. I’ve also read the Book of Mormon and lived in Salt Lake City for a bit and that was trippy.
If you are a Mormon you get to hear stories about great battles in the US between Nephites and Lamanites two groups for whom there is no historical record. Then there’s Kolob. But I digress.
Acts is a wild book and includes people being consumed immediately by worms for bad behavior.
And then there is Paul who essentially highjacked the church and hardly even mentions Jesus.

Jesus is the husband. The Church is his bride.
