Lindsey Graham: That was the "most fascinating meeting" in two decades Sen. Lindsey Graham just tweeted that the bipartisan immigration meeting was the "most fascinating meeting I’ve been involved with in twenty plus years in politics." Lindsey Graham@LindseyGrahamSC Most fascinating meeting I’ve been involved with in twenty plus years in politics. I very much appreciate @POTUS @realDonaldTrump attitude, demeanor, and desire to get something done that will make our nation more secure – while being fair to the #Dreamers. He added: "President @realDonaldTrump has the right attitude. Now it is up to all of us in Congress to come up with a proposal that gets the job done. The American people overwhelmingly want better border security, a more modern immigration system, and to allow the #Dreamers a new and better life. All we have to do is listen to the American people and enact their wishes. I hope and pray we can get that done." http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/09/politics/trump-latest/index.html --------- They all get along so well when the chips are down
"a more modern immigration system" To Graham that means amnesty and expansion to chain-migration. So **** that, **** him, and **** Trump too if any deal includes citizenship for even a single illegal. I have this sickening feeling that the Dems are going to promise a border wall tomorrow for amnesty today, in which tomorrow never comes, and cucked pieces of **** like L.Graham are going to help make that happen. These Republicans need to grow some ****ing balls. Build the wall, deport every illegal, burn DACA on the House floor, and launch into a relentless media campaign highlighting even American citizen killed by illegals, every American child raped by illegals, and every tax dollar spent not spent on Americans because its spent on illegals instead and then point to the anti-American liberals and say "THEY made it happen, THEY want more of it, THEY are to blame".
I hope they can get it done, and if it means compromise then that's fine just needs to be in writing and done immediately not years from now.
http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/10/politics/shutdown-immigration-daca-state-of-play/index.html Excerpt: Here's the state of play: To be clear... Nobody views the court ruling as any kind of permanent solution, and as such, those who really want a DACA deal (Democrats and a segment of the Republican Party) will still push forward. As one Democratic adviser texted me when I asked if this changed the impetus to get a deal now: "No chance." Key point here: To get this done -- something so divisive inside the Republican Party, so explosive inside the Democratic Party, there needs to be a cliff of sorts -- an extreme mechanism to force action. The spending bill is that mechanism. Period. A huge point people are glossing over: It's a mess But, and I can't make this clear enough, this is an absolute mess inside the Senate and House Republican conferences right now. The realistic outlines of deals being considered -- and being negotiated by the Senate working group -- would maybe get the support of half the conference in the Senate, even less in the House. That is a nightmare for leadership. As one GOP aide told me late last night: "We're nowhere close to where we need to be to actually move on something." Hence why an "out" of sorts -- like, say, a court ruling might be attractive... But it ain't smooth sailing on the Democratic side You also can't overstate the pressure that's on Democratic leadership right now -- and the high-wire act Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi have trying to navigate their respective caucuses on this. This is something they can't budge on anymore. The activist pressure is enormous. The internal caucus pressure is enormous. Don't expect them to back down any time soon. ----- Something is going to happen with DACA, I'm sure. Those who want no negotiation by Trump and other Republicans will not get their way, I'm sure. There is bound to be some deal on DACA.
