The live-action The Little Mermaid movie is coming next year, 2023, and a trailer is already out. I think that's wonderful, but not everyone does. You see, the little mermaid has been cast as a black woman, and a large number of people don't like that. Too bad, they will not destroy this movie for the rest of us! But where do you stand on this?

Let’s hope when they make a live action of Princess and the Frog, everyone is white. Fair is fair.

Amazon Prime's Rings of Power series has black Elves and black proto-Hobbits in it. So what, who needs type casting anyway?

So what is right. Let’s hope the Black Panther sequel has a bunch of white people living there since that would be more accurate. But I’m guessing a big fat NO. And looking at the new movie Woman King, it’s weird that they’re all female and black. Why aren’t there any white or Asian people? Casting doesn’t matter right?

The movie has already BEEN made with a white character. Nobody is banning THAT film. So why the freakout if someone makes ANOTHER and DIFFERENT
version? It's already fair. The only thing that would not be "fair" would be if the first version was destroyed.

The only reason for a freak out I can see is one that is racist in tone. Its not as if MERMAIDS - a fictional being - are a certain skin tone.

Why not a “black” woman - quite frankly since it is fantasy they could have made her any “colour”

Too bad most of those were due to ACTOR choices and name recognition and not because they needed to virtue signal for equity. Some even due to Chinese pressure for their market. So big FAIL on your examples.

But you knew all that didn't you. :)

Black elves. Black Targarians. Black Dwarves. Black Vikings and Norse heroes. All twisting the lore for no reason other than to virtue signal.

If it’s OK to do that why isn’t OK for white WAKANDA residents? White people don’t make sense in Wakanda or a movie about black female Africans. Because it would look stupid that’s why.

Let’s see what color Blade is in the remake. I’m guessing black because he’s supposed to be black and should ALWAYS be black. And nobody cared that Red from Shawshank wasn’t an Irish guy because they wanted someone of a certain caliber and the right voice to carry the narration.

Deciding to race and gender swap Disney and Marvel characters across the board along with bastardizing established franchises has NOTHING to do with talent. It’s pure equity woke nonsense and it’s biting them in the ass.

Again. If it worked both ways it wouldn’t matter. But it’s NOT and everyone knows it. It’s simple. If Disney changed all the black characters in Princess and the Frog white would there be an uproar? OF COURSE!! It would be dumb and unnecessary. They would be boycotting Disney and calling them racist. But it’s perfectly fine to change established white characters black or male to female. But that’s always OK. It’s never stupid and if you acknowledge it, we’ll….racism or misogyny. Hehe

Im so sad that this cute little black star has destroyed the Little MermaId for you. I hope you can move on from this devastating blow to your life.

PS…This story was about unrequited love between Hans Christian Andersen and the man he was crushing hard for. Lol.

That movie was shot over the area in Nevada where the atom bombs were tested. Many say that's the reason Wayne died of lung cancer. I think it might have had something to with his smoking multiple packs of cigarettes daily too but who knows

No, before that. JC is the spitting image of what the Ancients thought Alexander the Great looked like.

Black preacher talking to Archie Bunker "All of our best knowledge now says that Jesus was almost certainly an Ethiopian"
Archie "Yeh, and all the Protestants say he was a Presbyterian"

We all have the original. A new movie can’t ruin that. It just shows the disgusting nature of Hollywood now. Why don’t you acknowledge the double standard? Scared to actually intelligently engage in the conversation?

Scared of what? Movies get remade all the time. Do you truly believe that The Little Mermaid is the first remake? Lol. Remakes go back a half century, or more.

Seriously, be grateful that this is what is causing your outrage du jour. You are apparently blissfully unaware that we have actual problems.

Lol at grown up white men crying because little black girls get to be excited about a mermaid that looks like them. It must be awful for you. Boo hoo.

There were two white guys in Black Panther - Both British and Both had worked on The Hobbit so they were the two Tolkien White Guys

I don't see the big deal. Its not like its an historical subject or the main character's ethnicity was a plot point. If they made a movie with Amelia Earhart played by a black woman (which will prolly happen before too long...) that would be pretty cringe. But this... this isnt an issue. Its fantasy.

Also its Disney. Fk Disney in general.

Crap, dude - 95% of all Disney Princesses have been white, and now you are freaking out because that number is now only 90%?
Trump has ruined the right wing.
