I noticed that Lori Loughlin is on the cover of People. If guilty in the college cheating scandal she should undoubtibly be punished. But, I think the crime Jussie Smollett is accused of was much more serious. He tried to fan the flames of racial tension in this country by falsely accusing two (non existant) white men of assaulting him and yelling racial and Gay slurs. He did this in hopes of creating sympathy for himself and gain a pay raise. The $100,000 per episode he got for EMPIRE wasn't enough. If his plot hadn't been exposed as a hoax so quickly it could easily have resulted in riots and bloodshed. Remember Rodney King? His beating resulted in six days of riots, 63 people killed, and 3,000 injured. King was an unknown while Smollett is a celebrity. If guilty (and we have to say if because the incompetent prosecutor Kim Foxx dropped 16 felony counts without even demanding an admission of guilt) Smollett was willing to see Chicago go up in flames in exchange for fame and money. It should be him on People's cover with the heading "A Star's Fall From Grace."
