Will they? Given Trumps toughness with them they might try to help the other guy?
So he's actually more popular this year than last year?
So why didn't Obama do anything about it, he was president at the time? Obviously national security was weak.
What toughness would that be? Trump's blaming Obama, and only Obama, for Russia's invasion and annexation of Crimea? His taking Putin's side at Helsinki? His inviting Putin to the White House? His constant denial of Russia's interference in our politics and his embracing of the Russian fake news about Ukraine supposedly doing it? His pushing for Russia to be readmitted to the G7? His internal efforts to get Russian sanctions lifted?
Obama stated his reason as not wanting to provoke the Russians by responding. He also didn't have the benefit of the investigations subsequent to that, informing us all of the severity of Russia's efforts. It seems we were ill-prepared for it, that it was not expected. Russia has the advantage as the aggressor of being able to take us by surprise at times.
More concerning is the present than the past, though. Trump refuses to do anything about it. He won't even publicly acknowledge the reality of it, and this while he publicly and privately embraces Russian disinformation about Ukraine.
Just hold Trump to the same standard as Obama. If Obama did sweet FA, then Trump can do sweet FA about it. So Trump doesn't want to provoke the Russians too.
Obama also had the problem of if he did something then Republicans would have screamed that he was using his office to gain a political advantage for Democrats by making believe Trump was getting help from the Russians. Not unlike republicans accusing Clinton of attributing too much importance in Osama Bin Ladin and it was just wag the dog. We see how that turned out.
Won't be surprised....
Marginally and that is only in between him stuffing up
It still is not enough to get him re-elected
