Saying the government is responsible = saying the taxpayer is responsible = saying I am responsible. No thanks. The ultimate responsibility must rest on the individual. I just don't get why people are so damn weak and inept and irresponsible that they expect everything to be done for them by someone else.

yes college educated people are better suited in a post automated world. The more education you have the better suited you will be. Call centers are going to be the first to go, then drivers, then retail workers, Will follow light manufacturing. None of these jobs are jobs that college educated people pursue. And I will go on to say that college educated people are better equipped to discern political and economic intracisies than non college educated population as a whole.

Because I don't expect other who live in Texas with thier own families now go back to Florida to care for an elderly parent. They may be taken care of thier spouses family, they may not have the means to do so. I am fortunate that I made enough money to let my wife be a homemaker and not work outside the home.

    So EFFIN what?

Who cares. Good. More space for whitey. Are you honestly going to use birth rates as another angle to open the borders so more takers flood in? Fact is that the browns are net negatives....they don't add to the tax base. Sorry/not sorry.

Quit spending so much money. It's not the government's money.

Fortunate? I am disappointed that you don't think more highly of yourself. Are you fortunate, or did you work your butt off and build a good life for your family? Was it all just luck, or was it you being responsible and taking care of your future? Anyway, you take care of yours, I take care of mine, and so should everyone else.

Automation will require plenty of jobs for blue collar workers. Those robotics must be built and installed, including electrical, pneumatics, and hydraulics, machining, welding, someone has to maintain them, etc. It will not require a college degree to program them and make changes to the software.

It can be claimed that "college educated people are better equipped to discern political and economic intracisies [sic]" and it can just as easily be claimed that college educated people are more highly indoctrinated concerning political and economic intricacies.

If your mom is 80 and disabled, will you take care of her, or do I have to?

Not to worry, single payer (government) health insurance will solve the overpopulation of senior citizens.

I would assume that you have parents, siblings, children, and friends that would be glad to help you out. I would assume that you have been responsible and frugal with your previous earnings and have not squandered it all, thereby having a decent amount of wealth to rely on. I would assume you would drastically cut back on all luxuries and cut your expenses to the absolute minimum - perhaps sell your home and move in with the parents/siblings/children/friends which would decrease your expenses drastically. Food banks and charity would probably be an option.

Of course, to be realistic, would I be correct in assuming that you would get on every tax-payer funded welfare program that you could possibly suck the blood out of while maintaining your current level of leisure?

Is it your intention that I should provide your sustenance?

Is it really expensive? And you are unwilling to burden someone or their family with that expense? But you are perfectly fine with financially burdening people who are not even related to the someone?

Look, if you and Lesh are worried about becoming disabled, it may be prudent to get some disability insurance and stop thinking that I owe you a living.

If they can't afford it for themselves, what makes you think that I can afford mine and theirs too? Real shame that entitlement has usurped personal responsibility.

If all citizens earned exactly the same amount, personal responsibility might possibly work, but when you have gigantic disparity in incomes it is inconceivable.

    "we want free stuff"
    "we deserve free stuff"
    "give us free stuff"
"we are so inept that we can't care for ourselves and our families"
"so you must give us free stuff"
"because we are entitled to free stuff"

    Really?

All over the world it has been proven that if you can put resources into community care then you can keep the elderly out of expensive aged care facilities, which they do not want to go into in the first place

Available today on the MSN main page is an excellent Business Insider article which shows the cost of both living in a retirement community and in an assisted living facility in each state where you can compare the costs of each option.Assisted living is much higher in every state as one might expect.
