I think everyone would agree that men are risk takers compared to women. In order to invent a successful product a lot of financial risk is typically required. That means stepping outside a normal woman's comfort zone and taking a leap of faith.

IMO, women are naturally wired to be protective, and known for taking the safe route when given a choice. I'd say it comes from the mother instinct of raising children and making sure they are safe and provided for.

Waiting for someone to call me a sexist now...

Then I would agree with my wife if she said that. Only an idiotic husband does not know that happy wife equals happy life. It makes you wonder where I left my balls? One guess where they were this Sunday morning . . .and that my friend is where "happy wife" comes to play. So take your chauvinist thoughts and go sulk in another corner somewhere with Rosey.

You just rationalized that the only way you can have a happy marriage is to beta yourself for the rest of your life and then called all self-respecting men "idiotic." And you're accusing me of being chauvinist? Do you know what the word 'irony' means?

How about just marrying a better quality woman? Stop and think about this from the other side for a second. Would you respect a woman that was always sucking up to you because she was afraid of pissing you off? Like the women who worry about being beaten by their husbands? "Happy husband, happy life. I better agree with him all the time. Yes, dear. Whatever you say." Would you respect someone that behaved that way? Of course not. You'd see them as weak. And it would be impossible to love them. Because you'd look down on them with scorn and contempt for not having the self-respect to stand up for themselves. Just something to consider about how your own wife might currently view you.

If you have to "behave yourself" to get sex, you don't have a partner. You have a boss. Why doesn't she have to "behave herself" to get sex from you? Isn't this a two-way street? Of course it is. But you don't appear to be willing to put your foot down. So you get walked on. And she's not going to respect you any more than you respect yourself. Because we all teach other people how to treat us.

A healthy relationship is give and take. Not dominator and submissive. Unless you're into the S&M thing, I guess.

If that is how YOU see it but there is no dominate spouse here just a happily married man and woman who love each other tremendously. We have only been married not quite ten years and we met when we were both 50 years old. First time for each of us. We understand how to keep happiness rolling along and it works for us. None of this chauvinistic attitudes like most Spanish men, in fact my wife never married inside her race because she disliked this trait among the Spanish male. So she waited until she found a real man who genuinely cared for his wife and her beliefs. And at the age of fifty, she found me and honestly I am more than honored by her choice as I was comfortable in my single lifestyle. There is no "behaving myself" in order to get sex as you mention. At least she is more than willing to offer herself to me just because she is the loving wife she is. Who am I to mess with a great relationship?
Well, like I stated earlier; Happy Wife, Happy Life.

Annie Jump Cannon - Spent years developing the classification system of stellar objects currently used by astronomers around the world
Hedy Lamar - Yes the famous actress. She developed a system for wireless communications during WWII which " By manipulating radio frequencies at irregular intervals between transmission and reception, the invention formed an unbreakable code to prevent classified messages from being intercepted by enemy personnel."

This is the basis for our modern cell phone system.

Mary Anderson, invented windshield wipers, and the first automatic windshield wipers.

Barbara Askins. The clarity of photos taken from space (and x-ray's and restoring old photos) was enhanced by her inventions in the 1970's. The fact that the CIA can read your license plate from a photo taken 300 miles up from a satellite is due to this woman.

Grace Hopper. Invented the first user friendly programming language COBOL

and yes the inventor of the modern Bra was Mary Phelps Jacob

Stephanie Kwolek invented Kevlar which has saved untold numbers of Military personnel and police, as well as making great Kayaks.

These are just a few women whose inventions have changed the world.

So you choose to ignore facts to the contrary ...refuse to even read the posts here listing the inventions of women....ya, that's sexist...if you have a daughter or daughters be sure to stifle them with your erroneous information about women.

    From Wiki:
Hedy Lamarr (/ˈhɛdi/; 9 November 1914 – 19 January 2000)[1] was an Austrian actress and inventor.[2] Her most significant technological contribution was her co-invention, together with composer George Antheil, of an early technique for spread spectrum communications and frequency hopping,[3] which paved the way for today's wireless communications[4][5] and which, upon its invention in 1941, was deemed so vital to national defense that government officials would not allow publication of its details.[6]

What have YOU invented lately ??

It's you who chose to ignore the logic in my post. Sure there are female inventors, but for every female invention there are 10 that were invented by men willing to risk it all.

He simply gave it the name that stuck. Has a nice ring to it as well wouldn't you say?

You seem to think that there is something wrong with men and women thinking and acting different from each other and it must be fixed. I simply acknowledge that it's a fact of life. MOD EDIT - RULE 2
