    Typical leftist drivel.

    Cut to the chase.

FedGov has no authority to regulate weed. Period. End of story.

    Did it save Kate Steinle?

Is it going to save the Americans being held prisoner in Iran?

It is tar in tobacco that causes lung cancer. Pot has much more tar when smoked; dopers just call it "resin".

Resin is not tar. It's actually the exact opposite. Pot resin is lipophilic, it actually helps your lungs, it acts just like surfactant.

If you don't believe me, try smoking two packs of cigarettes, then wait a day and smoke a joint. Then take a nice warm shower, and tell me what happens.

Look up Cannabinoid Hypermesis Syndrome. It is a very real thing, that I have struggled with. It is very rare, I love marijuana and wish it was legalized, but I simply must do without. CHS is a living nightmare. I do not want problems.

doesn't have to be smoked, brownies works too

and tar in tobacco "can increase the odds of lung cancer... not 100% does cause lung cancer

the oldest people to have lived were smokers, so hard to say it's 100% as it can also reduce stress which may increase your life span....

That's hyper"E"mesis, yes. You have this? Do you get it from "smoking" pot, or only when you eat brownies or some other form of edible?

Glad it saves lives but the truth is it is less harmful to society and individuals than is alcohol or tobacco. The Federal Government is a bunch of hypocrites. They don't have one study that shows marijuana is worse. I got that directly from the Surgeon Generals Office.

Yeah, that's why regular pot smokers hack up clumps of crap. Do you really believe the nonsense you just posted?

You're exactly right. That's why pot smokers do, and cigarette smokers don't.

Pot smokers do, because the surfactant is lipophilic and prevents the tars from clogging up the alveoli.

Cigarette smokers don't, because tobacco tar is hydrophilic and sticks in the alveoli, both preventing breathing and causing accumulations of toxins.

The rest of your post is meaningless. THC itself has a direct effect on five different forms of cancer, and other cannabinoids increase that number to 27. There are no known cancers that result directly from marijuana smoking. There is not one single case of lung cancer linked "exclusively" to pot smoking.

The point is that no smoke will cause benefit to your lungs and health but vice versa.

Smoke, all kind of it without exceptions will hurt your lungs and health in general, Our lungs were made to function their best with clean air.

No, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't make local efforts to end Prohibition 2.0 for no other reason than the AIDS scare of the 1980's. Which was led by hysteria and a lack of information, kind of similar to the Ebola situation. Government exists and is at its best when it only exerts influence where influence is warranted. It's no longer(if it ever was) warranted in this case.

Bruce Lee died from an interaction between the Miltown (meprobamate, which is Equagesic), and an antibiotic he took just before his brain swelled up.

No one has ever died from ingesting cannabis. No one.

Typical rightist drivel. At least you didn't say "dribble".

After breaking my foot playing hockey, one of my coaches suggested a diet I should go on. One of the things included on the list to eat was hemp (without the THC). You know that hemp is pot, yes? Turns out that it also contains the most complete amino acids that you can get from any source, including meat (which I eat in massive volumes).

Since going on this diet, I have had no major injuries, no broken bones and my game has improved in a very big way. The war against marijuana and hemp is stupid. It's a plant, and it exists for a reason.

Even though the benefits of hemp/marijuana are quite documented, a lot of the country still sees it as something horrible. It's not. There are a few states now that allow the growing of hemp/marijuana legally, but far too few. Most of the hemp I buy at places like Whole Foods comes from Canada.

Good you! I eat flax seeds, keeps my lipids in check.

    Indeed.

I don't buy, I grow. (Well that's not true, I buy the concentrates, but mostly I grow).

CA has it set up so everyone with a permit can grow six plants (at once). So basically, all these people buying at dispensaries are complete dummies, the law was set up so every pot smoker can get his/her weed for free. The idea originally, was that each person would sell their six plants to the collective, and the money from that would be enough to keep them smoking all year long. (A plant is a lot, it's a few ounces at least, most are closer to a half pound or something).

And, if you're willing to pay the doctor a few bucks extra, you can get a "grower's permit" which entitles you to 19 plants instead of 6. (That was set up to make sure the dispensaries never ran out of weed.... they thought of everything ;) ).

When I was a kid I used to get "sterilized hemp seeds" from a local herbal place, that was back in the 70's but it turned out that a lot of the seeds weren't actually sterilized and they'd grow just fine. Not spectacular weed, but still... a plant's a plant. The best weed I ever had was 2.0% government weed grown in Kentucky. (That's not like the 25.8% THC you see on the dispensary labels, they're not measuring "what fraction of the cannabinoid is THC", they're actually measuring THC by weight). To get the dosage right, they first extracted all the THC from the weed, then they put it back in, in a measured amount. Tasted exactly the same in a water pipe. We were doing a "couples study", they wanted to watch us to see what happened to us when we got stoned. :)

That's been my stance all along. If something is good for you your body wouldn't try to force it out at first. You have to train yourself to accept what the lungs are designed to filter out. The side effect is that is screws with your brain and makes you feel good. Once you need that thing to make you feel good all the time you're addicted. Addiction is a mental disorder. A mental weakness. And the odds are it's not the only one.

I'm all for legalizing it and regulating it just like alcohol. It's certainly better than alcohol or hard drugs and will bring in nice tax revenue. I'm only afraid our idiot local govt will just adjust the budget to compensate for the extra revenue instead of accepting it as MORE income. Kind of like the lottery boondoggle. Extra money for education they said, until they just removed from the education budget all the extra money that was coming in. You traitorous (*)(*)(*)(*)ers. Reallocated😄. Geniuses.

Really need to drop this line from the whole pro-pot crusade.

Improperly cured weed which grew mold has caused respiratory infections and killed people.

People have gotten stoned and found ways to kill themselves.

Smoking anything can cause cystic fibrosis or asthma attacks both can lead to death.

    Link?

    Link?

Smoking "anything" can cause cystic fibrosis?

    No, I don't think so.

You're making a lot of assertions, without any proof. Got some?

Amazing how any time a thread about pot or weed pops up, no one can make a single, valid and constructive argument against the use/legalization of the same.

It may not cause deaths--except for the occasional potted-up car accident; but it gives men boobies. If I was a man, I think I would rather be dead than have to walk into a mammogram 'store' for a 'manogram'.

Umm, People with Cystic Fibrosis were born with the disease. You don't "get it" from smoking.
