It seems that one party’s members do what they please with impunity, while the other is expected to fall on their sword for the mere appearance of impropriety.

2. You have to believe that Trump taking home material to Mar-a-Lago is a capital offense that requires 30 FBI agents to spend 9 hours rifling through his wife's undergarments and the like.

The FBI actually seized 11 groups of classified documents. Some Top Secret.

That is way WAY beyond “the mere appearance of impropriety”.

 

Don't get too upset. This has been going on for a long, long time. It is not a "mob rule" society, at least not yet.
What the Republicans don't like is that the demographics are not in their favor. The Democrats are grabbing Federal laws and congressional acts, while the Republicans are grabbing Judicial and State laws.
But our country has gone through many battles like this and come through ok. It's all in the balance, one side pushes, the other side pushes back.
You see it more now not because it's happening more, but because you are more aware of it, largely due to 24/7 news channels and the internet.
We will survive and thrive, imo. Just have to get used to the informational overload.

 

I sure hope you are right. I’m doubtful, but we will see. I do agree that access to “news” at everyone’s fingertip does make things seem way worse. That and social media. We now live in a society where each and every idiot can now voice their opinion loud and proud behind a keyboard.

And Greene wants to impeach Garland for unsealing the warrant, which all republicans demanded by the way.

 

Are you honestly going to tell everyone on this forum, hand on heart that if it was a former Democrat President rather than Trump who'd allegedly been found in possession of top secret documents he was not legally allowed to possess you wouldn't out there baying for blood? Really?

And how on earth do you then go from one Republican (Trump) being the subject of a criminal instigation into ALL Republicans having to 'walk on egg shells' for fear of prosecution? Again really? Without a single piece of evidence to corroborate what your saying.

Lets be quite clear. As of this point in time, Trump has not been charged with a criminal offense. He may be, he may not. If charged he may be found guilty at trial, he may not be. Point is he's nowhere near being being charged - yet. And since no-one barring the investigators know what evidence they have at this point in time its pointless speculating about what that evidence might be or it might prove. So how about we tone down the outraged, right wing drama queen act. Trump as exactly the same legal rights and privileges that any other US citizen enjoys and there's nothing the 'evil Democrats' can do about that even if they wanted to.
