And every time one of these places attempts to enact common sense gun control the RW looses their GD minds! Then the conservative stacked courts kill the law.

Sir, the reason Americans carry guns is PRECISELY because they don't feel safe.

If Hitler attacks you, France will be the first country to lend support. Unlike America which took nearly 3 years to arrive.

I feel a lot safer in my state (WV) where a handgun can legally be carried open or concealed without a license than I do in next door MD where in general one cannot legally carry a firearm unless politically connected. I hike a lot in MD and will never forget passing two women on a trail who told me I should be carrying a stick as I was walking near a location of the trail where several people had been attacked. I thought how lucky I was to live in a State where I did not have to rely on a stick for self defense.

I carry a gun and it’s not out of fear, it’s for the just in case. That’s like saying we keep nukes out of fear when we do not. We keep them for the just in case. I believe that if more people carried guns we would have less to fear. I would bet money that if everyone had guns on planes 9/11 would have never happened. Go ahead and tell me I’m crazy but there absolutely no way in hell 9/11 would have happened.

If you weren't frightened there wouldn't be a just in case.
Ans next time I am on a hijacked plane over NYC I'll try to remember what you said.
ISTM you are frightened of every possibility you can imagine This is called paranoia. Just l7ke if I lived in Scotland I might carry a gun to threaten the Loch Ness Monster with it. People still swear they have seen it.

Are there ever gun deaths in France? If there is even one that means there is still a chance. If that chance exists then I would rather be prepared to fight rather than be prepared to hide under a desk while my friends and family are murdered

And yet it can happen to any disarmed population. So sorry. Iran is showcasing EXACTLY why an armed population is so important.

I guess if you were ever the victim of a violent crime you might think differently. It might be illogical to you and we hope you don't find out how erroneous your broad brush nonsense is

I bought a life membership when I started training with the goal of being on the US Shooting team in ISU skeet. The NRA helped get Heller and McDonald decided properly.

I was a federal prosecutor for 24 years. Felons are already BANNED from possessing any gun. they commit at least 80% of the gunshot murders in the USA. Fentanyl is banned in the USA for private citizens to buy, sell or use short of certain pharmaceutical issues. Fentanyl causes more deaths in the USA than gun related murders and accidents combined. Try again, your argument fails

to many gun haters, owning a gun is a crime to them-whether you are a hunter, an olympic class trap shooter or a nutcase bent on killing people to aggrieve perceived slights. They see all gun owners as pretty much the same

if you don't know that some drugs (Schedule one) are banned in the USA, why are you arguing?

So youveould arm the entire world and take Civilisation back to the middle-ages.

Yes there are gun deaths. Yes it is illegal to carry a gun
And yes France has FAR FAR fewer gun deaths that the USA and far fewer mass shootings.

    https://www.aap.com.au/factcheck/do...erland-and-finland-than-in-the-united-states/

    France

France experienced two mass shootings in 2012 with 11 people killed. In one event seven people were killed in the cities of Toulouse and Montauban. In the second, four people were killed near Lake Annecy in the French Alps. The US experienced seven mass shootings in 2012 in which 71 people were killed. [10]

In 2015, France experienced three mass shootings killing 147 people. The Charlie Hebdo shootings killed 13, a second attack at a Paris supermarket killed four and a third event 130 people were killed in Paris across five locations. In 2015, the US experienced seven mass shootings with 46 fatalities recorded.

In 2018, France experienced two mass shootings and a total of 10 deaths. In the cities of Trebes and Cacassonne five people died. In December another five people died in a shooting at a Christmas market in Strasbourg. In the US in 2018, there were 12 mass shootings with 80 people killed.

The Charlie Hebdo attack was by terrorists, not your ordinary man in the street.

I am pointing out the bizarre comparison you make between drugs and guns.
No one fires drugs at children and kills them.
    Or at work colleagues.
I have never criticised those who commit suicide, just those who murder other innocent people.

There are 350 + Million Guns in America, banning Guns isn't going to do **** about stopping a Criminal intent on committing a Mass shooting. The only thing that's going to stop violent criminal behavior is when Police catch them, KEEP! them in F'n Jail and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law if they commit a crime with an illegal gun they arn't allowed to have. Democrats won't do that, they simply think if they can get a Gun Ban that only affects law abiding citizens who want to protect their families against criminals, that will solve these mass shooting. Bunch of Dummies!

The point is that gun deaths still happen even when outlawed. Our culture is much different than yours. We are a more violent culture period. We also have more knife murders than France just as we have more blunt objects murders than france. We are a more violent culture. Take that as a good thing on your behalf but facts are facts. People kill people, the tool is just a choice

Also, in the Middle Ages not everyone was armed and in many cases it was illegal to be armed unless part of the military.

    Nonsense.
Shooting is both a popular sport and a necessity all over Europe.
Still a huge sport among the aristocracy.

But gun ownership is tightly controlled and subject to surprise spot checks by the police.
Gun ID is also registered with the police .

Everyone in the MA was armed, with a sword, spear, bow and arrow or pistol.

I don't know why you accept your violent culture. It kills millions of innocent adults and children.
Yet ISTM that instead of trying to change it, you applaud it. Make excuses for it. Downplay it as if it is just a fact of life.

My facts of life are that I can go about my business and know the chances of seeing any violence are miniscule.

There are mass killings (and mass shootings specifically, if you really want to focus on the means) in most Western countries. No rational person believes "this only happens in third world poor lawless countries". You're plainly wrong if you believe it only happens there and the USA.

I was on the US shooting team. I also did some bird shooting in England. I know the laws. Your governments don't trust its citizens. I cannot help it if you are a fan of a nanny state. In Europe, many people look down on hunting and shooting because it is something the rich do. In the USA many effete wealthy liberals look down on hunting because it is popular with tradesmen, and the working classes. It is cultural loathing

Left-wingers hate the NRA due to its effectiveness in elections. It has nothing to do with crime control.

    I certainly don't.
I am perfectly aware of the use of weapons all over the world.

My point was that some people do.
