If he is going to quit for his golden parachute, he needs to get out of the process for replacing himself. He is the problem they are trying to replace.

Had they put McCarthy in place with Democrat votes (which was the only way they could), then more of those establishment scumbags would be voted out next primary system. One way or another, the Republican Party is moving back to fiscal responsibility, following the Constitution, and representing "We the People". Who knows, some day I may reconsider the party.

What Boehner did by postponing the election after the pull out of his Chamber of commerce RINO butt buddy is straight out of a banana republic.

It's pure proof that Boehner is 100% establishment scum. GTF OUT!

The irony is that Kevin McCarthy played a big role in recruiting a lot of these crazies.

I see Boehner and all his buddies are now begging establishment RINO Paul Ryan to run for speaker. He's the clown who supported the anti-religious liberty law ENDA, the TARP bailout, and supports open borders.

    No thanks.

And the Conservative consistency is that since McCarthy has become someone we don't want, we're not going to make excuses for him.

I don't think he is afraid of that. If it is an intelligent, responsible speaker they will have to expand their search outside of the Republican caucus.

Trump will take credit for this no doubt...but because Trump takes credit for everything he likes and blames everyone else for things he doesn't like. Why...because in Trump's mind he is the center of the universe.

In reality he is just a black hole.

He's not as bad as obama. You know, the one that won an election off of the coattail that he was withdrawing all troops from the ME, then withdrew them, then asked why he's getting the blame for pulling them out when it was all Bush's fault (after the shart hit the fan)... Like that?

I would ask that in the future you do not quote my posts out of context by only a partial quote that changes the meaning.

What the President does or does not take credit for is being argued. You are deflecting.

Boehner may be intelligent but he's far from being responsible. What the Republicans need to do is
elect a Speaker that will have the cohonnes to stand up to the left and stop trying to reach across
the aisle. In other words, the Republicans don't need another worthless meddling moderate (not
that there's another kind) in a leadership position.

Why does anything need to be done if it's going to be crap?

Any good ideas? Can you name one good bill that was in the best interest of the US that used compromise?

How about starting with the Constitution or if you don't like that one how about the Declaration of Independence?

    As far as legislation goes almost ALL legislation is the result of compromise with that said;

    Civil Rights Act
    Funding of Moon Landings
    Great Society
    Voting Rights Act
    Social Security Act
    Social Security Reform Act
    CHIP

Just to name a few. Are you really arguing that political compromise is somehow evil or bad????? Our whole governing philosophy is built on the premise of political compromise. Without political compromise there would be no self-governance.

The benefits to the nation of Republicans preoccupied with savaging one another in the House are already starting to accrue.

Whilst the snivelers are bickering, a coalition of 218 Democrats and centrist Republicans today filed a discharge petition for legislation reauthorizing the the Export-Import Bank.
That insures a vote on the House floor without requiring the reliable impediment of committee approval, and with 218 backers, it already has enough support to pass.

Desperate Republican fringe pixies now look to the highest-ranking Republican in the land, Turtle McConnell, to be their intrepid Horatius Cocles is standing against the popular legislation in the Senate.

They weren't bills. Good grief. The Declaration of Independence wasn't compromised.
Thomas Jefferson wrote it himself. The Constitution? Seriously, if the idiotic compromises
were put into place we'd have over 5,000 Congressmen in office. Thank goodness that
wasn't compromised. What is the Bill of Rights were compromised? Think before writing.
Good grief, you have to go back decades to find anything and still no evidence of compromise.
By the way, the Great Society was one of the most idiotic bills ever passed and has exasperated
poverty in the US. It may even be worse than Social Security. The Civil Rights Act? What exactly
was compromised? Be specific. You don't know. You're only hoping you're right. And what about
the Voting Act? What was compromised?

I believe you're assuming compromise took place.
Just to name a few bad bills that you can't provide evidence of compromise taking place.

    Compromise is unnecessary.
Not true. Without compromise things would be far better for the US. Compromise
makes good bill weak and bad bills strong.

It will be an uphill battle to get a Moderate Republican elected as Speaker of the House.

Yes I do. That's how I know Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence.

You've not provided a shred of evidence that compromise was used in drafting the
totally worthless bills you mentioned. I say you're assuming.

Please put up or shut as they say.

    Really...are you serious.

How about read a book on how the Declaration of Independence was debated and changed multiple times before it was accepted by the Continental Congress. All due to debate and compromise...

How about read a book on how the Constitution was written. If they didn't compromise they wouldn't have had to stay in Philadelphia for 4 months to write it. Arguing that compromise was not part of the Constitution or Declaration of Independence is just silly.

    http://www.ushistory.org/us/15d.asp

    http://www.monticello.org/site/jefferson/jefferson-and-declaration

These are just some web sites. I would prefer you pick up a good book on both documents to tell you in depth the amount of compromise that had to go into both documents.
