So your plan is to enact Medicare for all then expect providers adjust prices downward in a race to the bottom, while boosting quality at the same time?

We solved that problem in the single payer VA. Scandal-Free Obama ran two wait lists, the real one and the one published for public consumption. Veterans died waiting for care while outside appearances showed a VA running like a Swiss Watch. Ahh. That must be the Europe being discussed.

If those are the choices do we not lose all around? How do you expect quality to go up with wages going down. This would only work if everyone's wages were going down.

Would you try to improve care if you were told if you dont you will not be paid?

Valid point but do you suggest that everyone in the medical field has room to improve; no one is doing the best they can now?

Oh I think many are. I think incentives can be built in for people that show exceptional results

You may be right. From my standpoint it is sad to think the recent surgery I had was done by someone who was not trying to do his best.

Medicare for all. Over a 35 year career, I paid 1.45% Medicare Tax on my earnings without the deductions available for income tax. Free of the workaday world, I now pay $134 / month for the Medicare I already paid for plus I pay over $150 / month for a supplement. I also pay insurance for eye care, dental, and pharmaceuticals. What part of that do you think everyone should have? Are they going to pay a lump sum to make up for a shortfall in their Medicare tax?

Price controls have nothing to do with capitalism. Anti-Trust and laws that protect the people from being gouged are other stories.

why not. each time copays are discussed conservatives can simply argue for higher copays than the existing copays, and published prices are already mandated. Do you understand?

single payer alone would save $7500 per person so you'd get a check for that in theory. Do you understand?

if we had capitalism it would control prices for health care down to about 20% of what they are now. Do you understand?

we assume all would do better if their jobs depended upon it. This is why capitalism works better than libsocialism

the Europe being discussed delivers about the same care for 75% less money. We should copy it, and then switch it to capitalism(with published prices and rising copays) for even more savings. Do you understand?
