When it comes to brains, it does. Evolutionary paths in our own history prove that.

It's my understanding the bell curve on men's intelligence is flatter than that of women.

That results in women having a huge majority of IQ's in the 90 to 110 range. Whereas men have many more below 90 and many more above 110.

And if people thought whales and humans were equal for comparison that would say quite a bit too.

Dont whales have larger brains than humans? Yet they have not been to space.

 

This further enhances my long held opinion not to read any medical threads posted by non medical people.

I will endeavor to refrain from wasting time on such threads in the future.

 

I suspect that mens brains need to be bigger for men to process the logic that they use instead of intuition. The subconcious is far more powerful than the conscious. Men are more likely to think a problem out consciously. Women are more likely to respond on instinct and intuition, which our brains are more efficient at doing, as thats the vast majority of what they needed to do for the millions of years prior to science and civilization. Its no secret that men, on average, are better at technical thinking, troubleshooting, and trial-and-error problem solving, while women tend to have a more accurate 'gut', and can more reliably figure out the more subjective problems, like interpersonal emotional relationships, 'reading people' and 'predicting' outcomes.

Men need the bigger brain because they're more often concerning themselves with activities that the brain is less efficient at processing. Men are always doing it 'the hard way...'

 

What is important is the brain mass/body mass ratio:


It is this metric where humans have the edge over other animal species with larger brains. It means that, relatively, more of the brain mass can be used for cognitive function rather than mundane tasks, such as regulation and muscle control.

It's also a fact that men's brains haven't helped much especially when they drop to their groin at the slightest hint of sex.




And if they can't/don't use it so what if it's bigger.
