Sept 2012, DNC votes to remove God from platform

    Wrong.

    http://www.pewforum.org/religious-landscape-study/political-ideology/liberal/
52% of liberals claim to be Christian
    http://www.pewforum.org/religious-landscape-study/political-ideology/conservative/
85% of conservatives claim to be Christian

And from the well researched Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism, written by Arthur Brooks (who was a "leftist" at the time) the huge majority of religious people (all faiths) are conservative, not "progressive" or "leftist" or Democrats.

LOL, democrats are at war against religion, they want to remove religion from private property, politics, education, and the entire public square. Don't you read the news?

and it should not be part of the platform, democrats support people of all beliefs
we have some Atheist republicans too, so it should not be part of either parties platform to push a religion

For whatever lip service by political parties is worth, "God" was included in the final versions of both major party platforms in 2012 and 2016.

Indeed! As well as many Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, etc.

The Democratic Party celebrates a wide variety of religions as well as races.

Many Republicans claims to be White Christians.

    Wrong.

Watch the video of the "vote" to put God back in the platform - it was a voice vote and clearly the "keep God out" vote won, but the guy at the microphone making the call decided to ignore the vote.

Your claim that most Christians were "leftists" has been proven false.

Well, I don't want to remove religion from private property. I do want it out of politics, education and the public square though. The literal public square, that is. If you meant public discourse, then no.

If you want to force a Christian baker to produce a product which is against his religion, then you want to remove religion from private property.

The "public square" is any area people can assemble, including government owned property such as schools and administrative buildings. If you want religion out of politics, then you want religion out of the public square.

And if you want religion out of politics, then you want all morality out of public life - good luck with that.

A Christian baker's bakery is private property but his business is open to the public. The entire public. If he can't serve any member of the public who enters his establishment he should get out of the business world.

I definitely want religion out of public spaces.

I also want it out of politics. I don't agree that religion is the so

The bakery is private property but its a business that is open to the public at large. If the baker can't serve any member of the public that walks in he can close his doors.

Definitely want religion out of the public square and politics.

Don't agree that religion is the source of any morality.

In other words, you want to tell people how to live their lives. A person uses their own money, time, labor, skills to open a business, its their private property to do with as they please - that's even how the writers of the Constitution explained it. You are saying that a person can do whatever they want with their private property - as long as you approve, you being a person who has invested absolutely nothing in the private business.

Can a person who is guided by a sense of morality whether atheist or Christian or simply "a good person" run for public office? If the answer is yes, then you cannot keep religion out of politics. If the answer is that only non-Christians can run for public office, then you discriminate based on your own personal sense of morality (religion).

Religion by definition is a statement of morality. Any person who has a moral code is effectively a believer in a belief system - a "religion".

As I correctly noted, for whatever its worth, both parties, in 2012 and 2018, paid lip service to "God" in their platforms.

Actually, as a force for good, the world has been blessed with many liberal Christians of all races for centuries.

Many conservative Whites in the US call themselves Christians.

Why do you obfuscate? You were proven wrong, be honest and admit you were wrong, trying to pretend you were not wrong does you no good.

If the person wants to put religion before the laws of the land then he should not be able to get all the tax benefits of a business.
I’m a teacher and I think I should be able to say I don’t want any difficult kids in my class. What about the person who doesn’t want to serve a a woman because she isn’t subservient, My favorite hypocrisy is the same people are open on Sunday going against the 10 Commandments

You know that my noting that both political parties paid lip service to "God" in their 2012 and 2016 platforms was correct.

It is a matter of negligible consequence, but show some respect for truth. As you yourself cited, most liberals in the US are Christians.

If you take delight in most White Christians being on the political right in the US, I have no problem with that. That's true as well.

"In other words" is like a warning that someone is about to change what you said.

The baker opened his doors to the public at large. There was no sign saying no gay wedding cakes. If there was it would have been illegal anyway. You seem to think that only the laws you like apply on your private property but it isn't true, especially if you're a business open to the public.

As to religion, that is not the definition. Further, you are reversing the order in which things happened. Morals were conceived before religion. There are certain rules that every society observes because doing so is beneficial to society.

Religion incorporates them but it is not the origin of morality. The point is morals are independent of religion and would exist with or with out it.

democrats do not hate Christians... we dislike bad Christians, like the Conservative Christian poster from here that went on a mass shooting... but have no issue with normal Christians or any other religions normal folks for that matter

in fact Mexicans are about 95% Christians, which Party hates them and wants to build a wall and keep them out - let that sink in a bit

a politician can be any religion, they just can't use the government to force their religion on the people

Tax is a separate issue. If you remember the previous thread, I told you that I opposed all tax exemptions. The tax code should be a financial issue only, with no aspect of social engineering, no person or entity should be tax exempt.

Religion is nothing more than a moral belief system - atheism, Christianity, islam, secular humanism, hare Krishna, are all just moral belief systems. What makes your moral belief system better than some other persons? What gives you the power to say that your belief system is better than all others so that you can ban all other belief systems?

Too bad. Apply your other ideas to teaching - just like the baker, you must serve everyone. You must accommodate all of your students (customers), you must set aside your beliefs to accommodate them. If a student has a belief contrary to yours, too bad, his belief trumps yours.

I gave the links showing most Christians are conservative. You claimed most Christians were liberal. You LIE.

Democrats hate Christians, Democrats every act proves it. Democrats will use Mexicans - just like they will use muslims and gays - to gain power, but once Democrats have a lock on power they will drop the "diversity" façade and will eliminate all religious people and all troublemakers. That's what authoritarians do - Stalin, Mao, Hitler, they cuddle up to groups to form coalitions of power, until they don't need the coalition any longer, then its off to the camps for the coalition.

Religion is a statement of moral belief - secular humanism is a statement of moral belief, so is islam, atheism, confuscious, Christianity.

You just want to ban belief systems that you don't like, and impose your belief system on everyone.

Your attitude that the "law" trumps rights is backwards. Read Bastiat, The Law, to get some idea of how wrong you are.

Learn history. Study the communist rise to power in Russia, their expansion into the USSR, study Hitlers rise to power in the 1930's, Mussolini, Mao. The Democruts in the USA follow the same model.

I think you’re a little paranoid when you accuse me of saying that my belief system is better than others. I have no problem with your belief system but when you impose it on me I have a big problem. I have no desire to ban your belief system.....that’s personal.
Why does a student who has a belief contrary to mine, trump mine?

Study Stalin’s “enemy of the people”, when people disagreed with him. Like trump and the media
