And parked in a parking lot that has one exit that could be blocked off by one car driven by a disabled person :)

What about all the real crimes that were not attended because 8+ police turned up to a parking while black offence.

Ah, I guess you are right; It was a necessity to taze this dangerous criminal down for the horrible offense he just committed while the parking was bustling with activity. Besides I guess poplar trees were all cut down to make place for more interdiction signs. I suppose that's why the Milwaukee police dept hasn't issued excuses yet. =)

While I'm not defending parking in a HC spot what business especially a Walgreen has only 1 available? Answer none.

Yeah, I did find that kind of ironic and laughable. Typical government response.

However, I don't think it was primarily the handicapped parking violation that initially piqued police interest. Ya' got to admit Sterling's actions here made him stick out like a sore thumb.

A black man in a hoodie immediately raises red flags which is the main issue and if that's not racist then something is very wrong with your minds here.

When are people going to realize that the overwhelming majority of cops DO NOT GIVE A FLYING YOU KNOW WHAT! They just do not care and with them being coddled by government and many on the general public, they are all the more feisty and will pounce on anyone. They are OUT OF CONTROL, like many females in today's society.
It is best to do as Isa suggested and settle the issue between yourselves, because when the sentries become involved, neither will receive justice . . .

I posted the quotes because it has been long realized that justice ONLY comes from agreement with the two parties, and NOT courts of supremacy ("Law").
What does this have to do with an athlete being tasered by a cop? Everything.

Only two that protect side access to handicapped vehicles. These spaced are required, by law, for physically disabled people that are dependent on devices that aid mobility. Wheelchairs, walkers and those that require crutches need the space next to their vehicle to be clear so they can manouver and set up their equipment. Regular spaces don't offer that needed space and if used another vehicle can park next to the handicapped persons vehicle prohibiting their access to their vehicle. This can leave them marooned for hours.

I haven't watched the video past the 3:00 mark yet, I'm still just commenting on the parking issue that initiated the event.

Thirty seconds isn't going to do it. There are two types of detention here. One is the simple administrative hold necessary issue a citation for the parking violation. That's realistically about 15 minutes. The other involves a potential crime in progress, a criminal investigation, that a little more open ended.

Discussion with the driver alone isn't enough to resolve the issues of concern here. 24 hour drug store, hurriedly and haphazardly parked car perpendicular to normal flow directly adjacent to the store's entrance and pointed toward the exit, 2 a.m. Add now the fact that city code and state statutes have without doubt been violated. A reasonable person witnessing the above can reasonably form the thought that maybe a crime is afoot here. Sterling's initial actions raise 'reasonable suspicion' if not 'probable cause'.

This cannot end until robbery is ruled out. That means until police speak to store personnel and rule out a crime the driver is justly detained.

It's not flawed thinking, it's reality. You can play woulda, coulda, shoulda all day but the FACTS of this scenario don't back you up.

How about we get Sterling to stop painting a picture that looks just like a robbery in progress!

Yet the police department doesn't agree with you. We'll see what the court says.

I saw two that could be used by a handicapped person needing that protected side space. Sterling took up both. One was immediately adjacent to the sidewalk, the first spot, and the other had the diagonally painted lines designating the 'clear zone' to the left of the second space.

Two, with the clear zone in between. The first spaces clear zone was the sidewalk to its left.

By way of disclosure. I have a good friend that is disabled physically, spina bifida from birth. I'm one of her conduits to the outside world when she's having problems and have learned from experience the importance of handicapped parking spaces. I've also learned from experience why the physically disabled that are dependant upon walking aids and wheelchairs cannot use normal spaces as someone up thread suggested. I parked in a regular space once. When we returned a car had parked next to us, and Dawn couldn't manouver between the two. I moved the car, problem solved, but if she was alone she would have been setting out in the open waiting on the adjacent car owner to return.

Its a ordinance and police can enforce it. Business are required by law to have so many handicapped spaces. I have an app on my phone I use to report such ******** violators. They should be tased on the spot IMHO.

What happens when you don't give an officer your name and you get in their face and you put your hands in your pocket and tell them you cant take them out because you have something in your pockets?

He gave him his name twice when asked right at the beginning. His hands were not in his pockets when talking to the single officer
