Minimum wage should be based on average cost of living in the County them individual is employed in. It should be adjusted every four years, based on the 4 year average.

Currently, those entering the workforce , including recent College grads, are forced to put off marriage, buying a home, transportation because they simply are not paid a wage commensurate with the cost of living.

Many employers aware of this pay salaries that are fair and allow for employees and their families to enjoy an affordable standard of living. It cannot be set by the Federal Government because there are extreme differences in the cost of living by State, County and even City. This is why Medicare reimbursements to Providers are based on WHERE the services are Provided. providers perform the same service or surgery but based on where the service is provided, their reimbursements vary greatly. They should be paid the same as the service provided is the same.

So if the Federal Government believes Medicare reimbursement amounts should vary based on location, then why should they believe wages should not?

This is why States should be in charge. Plus it gives CitiEns greater input. Citizens can't vote out representatives from other States, can they?

That's not a wage problem, that is a skills problem, people get paid for what they are worth, as such minimum wages should be abolished.
