No thanks. I don't choose to waste my money on Hollywood propaganda attacking the Constitution.

 

LOL, I agree a twist but another stupid movie of Hollywood liberal wishes. Like Designated Survivor after having Congress taken out the finally get around to passing their first bill, gun control.

 

If I want to immerse myself is fallacious appeals to emotion, ignorance and/or dishonestly, I'll peruse the Democratic Underground or tune into MSNBC.

 

I had hopes for Designated Survivor until they did that.

 

They do have some pro-gun folks in the movie, that I'm sure you could relate to...

For the OP to bring it up as a great movie just shows what a weak argument the anti's have.

 

I saw it on Amazon Prime, where it had 4 Stars. I think that's about correct. It kept my attention, and Jessica Chastain did a fine job in the lead role. She got good reviews, even from critics of the movie. The ending was very clever, in my mind - a tribute to the writing.

 

Hmm, Maybe Evangelicals will make one about abortion.

It was a bomb that no one saw and fewer people liked.

 

I've met quite a few people who have seen the movie. It's offered on Amazon Prime, with a 4-Star rating.

 

It cost $18M to make. It grossed $5.8M worldwide. That's pretty much a bomb of a movie.

So you liked the movie, as entertainment, I can respect that. Not that I'll ever watch that movie, but are you suggesting it has some valid message outside of entertainment? No offense, but Hollywood or any other entertainment isn't really a good guide to base one's policy preferences on. I would suggest actually looking at data that shows both sides of the issue and making a more informed opinion...

 

To be frank, they really were counting on a Clinton victory. Note the release date.

 

Never heard of it. So I looked at the Amazon reviews you keep mentioning - they like Chastain's performance, like the plot twist, some comment on the poor morals of lobbyists, but nobody describes it as a gun control movie. Maybe you see it through your personal gun ban bias and read a lot more into it than is there.

 

At the beginning, the lobbyist, portrayed by Chastain, works in a major, highly-funded lobbying organization. She is their go-to girl for the big clients. A wealthy gun rights advocate approaches the firm and wants Miss Sloane to make guns popular for women. She beligerently laughs in his face. The opposition hears about her actions, and asks her to go to bat for them. The rest is the ups and downs of the battle, with her old firm targeting her with a lawsuit scandal, resulting in some interesting court drama.

Well I can understand why most of the world missed it. However a porno parody would have played better.

 

There's a little pimp action too. So maybe it will work for you.

 

I read the plot summary, and about a dozen of the reviews. The firearm industry was the environment, the plot apparently was not gun control but the corruption of lobbyists.

 

I"m not going to watch it anyway. They would have to pull Jenna Jameson out of retirement to save it. Chastain doesn't look like she has the kind of talent needed.
