So how are you really privy to a posters alignment and what's your nonunderstanding with the term "SEEM". ;)

One can dislike Trump. AND not support the rioters at the same time.

Can you really only NOT support one thing at a time?

How have Democrats "abused their power?" Shut down bars and clubs so kids can go to school?
How awful you have to live in a country with so many "clowns."

You didn't answer the question. I'll rephrase it. You state that posters who "seem" to oppose hypocrisy "seem" to align with the left. Why would you assume that? Why wouldn't a poster on the right also align against hypocrisy regardless of what political party they favor?

It appears the Senate now has 51 votes. Even never-Trumper Romney is on board. Looks like a done deal before the name is revealed.

Who says @Bowerbird is "so concerned" about the SCOTUS because of a comment she made about our politics? Have you read the forum rules...?

With Romney backing Mcconnell and Trump to fill the vacancy, the Dems will not be able to stop it via vote. They now will have to take more drastic measures, like shutting down the government through the election.

I counted at least 11 countries that I know have universal health care that are way above the U.S. on this chart. You would think that would at least get the nay-sayers some food for thought, eh?

Most of these things have already happened or our going on right now.
    1. Have you ever heard of "eminent Domain" ? How about "rent control" ? How about a moratorium on repayment of mortgages.

    2. We have had a progressive income tax system since 1913. I even have a copy of my wife's fathers tax return. Biden said "Hell yes, I'm going to raise your taxes".

    3. Biden also wants to tax virtually all inheritances, even for poor people. Rather than encouraging family wealth transfers as a form of retirement planning, he wants to increase Social Security benefits, another tactic that would make everyone’s income in retirement more equal. Biden has not made clear how this would work. One option is that anyone who receives an inheritance would have to pay tax immediately on any unrealized capital gain. This idea was proposed last year by Senator Cory Booker and is the norm in Canada, where there is no estate tax but an inheritance is treated as a sale for capital gains purposes. https://www.courthousenews.com/savi...,treated as a sale for capital gains purposes.

    4. " Public "law" 99-570 (1986); Executive order 11490, sections 1205, 2002 which gives private land to the Department of Urban Development; the imprisonment of "terrorists" and those who speak out or write against the "government" (1997 Crime/Terrorist Bill); or the IRS confiscation of property without due process. Government "tax liens" seizure, and forfeiture.

    5. In 1913 the government created a national bank which can politically manipulate interest rates and money supply. You may know under a different name called the Federal Reserve.

    6. At any time the government can take over all communication in the U.S., communication and transportation are controlled and regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) established by the Communications Act of 1934 and the Department of Transportation and the Interstate Commerce Commission (established by Congress in 1887), and the Federal Aviation Administration as well as Executive orders 11490, 10999 -- not to mention various state bureaucracies and regulations. There is also the federal postal monopoly, AMTRAK and CONRAIL -- outright socialist (government-owned) enterprises. Instead of free-market private enterprise in these important industries, these fields in America are semi-cartelized through the government's regulatory-industrial complex. http://laissez-fairerepublic.com/TenPlanks.html

    7. Have you heard of "price supports" for agriculture, land use permits, acreage allotments of what can be grown and how much. We have the IRS, Department of Commerce, Department of Labor, Department of Transportation, EPA, Bureau of Land Management and Reclamation, Bureau of Mines which pretty much have control over all lands and it's use. Do you really own your land? Patent vs Warranty Deed. https://teamlaw.org/land.htm

    8. Equal Rights Amendment not only meant equal pay but also subjected all woman to a draft and combat if the occasion should arise. Public Works Programs, civil service. Social Security - a scheme used by the government to tax new workers to support retiring workers. In deep trouble at present.

    9. Distribution of low income housing projects in affluent neighborhoods or cross city busing.

    10. I'm sure you have heard about our failing public school system.? How about the 1619 Project?

    11. All the Anarchy, looting, burning of property and defiance of law and order is no mistake. When you have the Biden/Harris campaign paying to bail out those arrested, Bloomberg paying fines for released prisoners and AG of cities refusing to prosecute the lawless what would you call it?

A question says a lot about the person who asks it. You ask this "question" that presumes somebody being on the left because they reject hypocrisy. Thank you for confirming my suspicion.

BTW, accusing somebody of "trolling", I've been told, is a no-no. Fortunately I'm the only one who read this. And I don't report nonsense like that. (In case somebody else does, MODS: this is just a friendly back and forth. No need to take any action against @ButterBalls) But you should be a bit more careful. There are others here who would report... anything. Just to see if something sticks.

And that is where Ginsburg did not understand the role of a judge and should never have been appointed as one. The role of a judge is to interpret the law as passed by the legislature not create laws and create rights.

"Ruth Bader Ginsburg did a great many interesting and impressive things in her life, but she never did the one thing she probably really should have done: run for office. Ruth Bader Ginsburg wasn’t an associate justice of the Supreme Court — not really: She was a legislator in judicial drag.

You need not take my word on this: Ask her admirers. “Ruth Bader Ginsburg had a vision for America,” Linda Hirshman argues in the Washington Post. What was her vision? “To make America fairer, to make justice bigger.” That is not a job for a judge — that is a job for a legislator. The job of making law properly belongs to — some people find this part hard to handle — lawmakers. Making law is not the job of the judge. The job of the judge is to see that the law is followed and applied in a given case. It does not matter if the law is unfair or if the law is unjust — that is not the judge’s concern. If you have a vision for America, and desire to make the law more fair or more just, then there is a place for you: Congress. That is where the laws are made....

...Justice Ginsburg’s using her position to try to impose a feminist vision on federal policy ought to be recognized for what it was: an abuse of power. If you want to rewrite the law along feminist lines, that’s a perfectly honorable project — run for Congress."
    https://www.nationalreview.com/the-tuesday/ruth-bader-ginsburg-didnt-understand-her-job/

And she even demonstrated this specious concept of the Constitution and our government on her deathbed when she alledged stated she wanted her replaced appointed by the next new President. Her desires and demands have no bearing, as a justice she didn't have the privilege of deciding how and when she would be replaced and by whom. That flies in the face of the Constitution.

I keep hearing how awful she was, yet, the SCOTUS judge I admire the most, Antonin Scolia, was her court BFF. They had mad respect for each other.

If irony was explosive, that could have wiped Milwaukee off the map.

But it was funny, so I can't complain too much.

I don't know or care what goals you personally have. The people that support the riots want to destroy America as we know it. They despise the fact that America has been successful and has done so while being overwhelmingly white. They despise the fact that large numbers of blacks hand hispanics have been failures, not only in America but all over the world. Their twisted logic leads them to believe that this is somehow white people's fault, so they insist on giving these two groups - and pretty much only these two groups - every advantage, only to watch them continue to fail, and blame America more and more each time until they work themselves into a frenzy of rioting and anarchy.

Why would you believe Pelosi's word on that?

Unless it is ironclad and an open and shut case, impeachment won't work. That will only make the Republican hand stronger, perhaps even losing the house.

    She has nothing else.

Do you really believe that some 30% of Americans approve of the rioting? That's not even close to true. The fringe of any group are usually the noisiest.
