Allowing Congress to be run by the lobbyists. The weapons makers feed money into every state, and run up the National Debt, but every state votes for war to get it's cut of the money and some goes to the politicians through the lobbyists. That's why we get pointless war after pointless war, and those usually last a long time, using weapons and making money for the weapons makers. when we get a weak President the country goes to war.
It's been like that for a long time, but now it has gotten to where the survival of the country is likely to be traded for more money from the lobbyists. It really isn't funny any more, but at one time it sort of was:
