Not relevant. The circumstances are completely different for a variety of reasons..........all known to you...........yet you pretend this is a normal situation.

Even some Repubs understand that which you do not.

Republicans blast Trump meeting with Putin as 'shameful' and 'sign of weakness'

Trump has extended an invitation to Vladimir Putin to another summit, this time at the White House. On multiple levels this is beyond incomprehension. It will not happen.

From the American point of view, we still do not know what happened at the first summit. Our only source for those two hours is Trump, the purveyor of fake news. He has lied so much, most Americans are not willing to believe anything he says. Trump did his talking at the news conference and that is enough. His rejection of American intelligence in favor Putin was treasonous.

From Putin's point of view, he got what he wanted at the Helsinki summit. The American President embarrassed himself and is reviled at home for his treason. Why give Trump a chance at a redo at his house? Particularly, when Trump says things like this. Trump vowed Thursday that if his dealings with Russian leader Vladimir Putin don't "work out, I'll be the worst enemy he's ever had." Putin would be foolish to accept the invitation. He knows the problems Trump caused at home, and he is thrilled. Why in the world give Trump a second chance?

Trump talks big when Putin and a bevy of savvy reporters are not around. When it counted, Trump was a coward. Putin is quite pleased. Let it go at that.

Because of the acrimony toward him caused by Trump's disgraceful performance, Putin knows he is not welcome to America. He knows Trump's own party is telling him that. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan said they have no intention of inviting Russian President Vladimir Putin to address Congress.

The media still has not learned. This invitation is bogus, a farce, another one of Trump's red herrings, this time to get the media to talk about something other than his treasonous performance on Monday. Yet, the invitation is all over the media. The "fake news media," as Trump likes to call it, is doing his dirty work for him.

Y'see, I didn't notice any acquiesence or servility, I saw it as a mutually respectful meeting between the world's two most powerful leaders with the intention to join forces against the west's - actually the entire world's - mutual and most dangerous enemy, viz. international terrorism. One day you might wake up to that dire fact - probably when there's an atrocity at a shopping mall near you.

Senior smart-ass FBI wonk takes the rare opportunity to get his own back on the incumbent president for telling it like it is? What a surprise. :sleepy:

I have often referred to the Russian government as a criminal organization. That is my opinion as I write this.

Nevertheless, there are reasons why we must engage with Russia. Here are a few.

    - North Korea
    - Finding a resolution to the Syrian situation, allowing the U.S. to get out of Syria
    - Coordination, where feasible, with regard to Islamic terrorist organizations
    - Attempting to find resolution to the Ukraine situation
    - Nuclear weapons agreements

We don't have to like Putin or the Russian government, but we do need to live with them.

I am sufficiently convinced that Trump will defend and protect America's interests. Accordingly, I have no problem with him trying to build a pragmatic, working relationship with the Russians and attempting to work with them on these issues. I admire him for trying, especially in the face of the withering criticism he is getting from all sides. This criticism is political, not patriotic. His enemies on the left and on the Establishment right did not go crazy when other past presidents did the same thing. The left would have been perfectly happy if Hillary had done it if she had been elected. That is an undeniable fact, not an opinion. I also admire him for meeting with Kim Jong Un in an attempt to find a peaceful resolution to the nuclear weapons issue. Maybe it won't work. Maybe we will find few areas of mutual cooperation with the Russians as well. But I admire him for trying. I want him to try. What I don't want is a timid President who won't do anything until he or she tests the political winds first.

    :roflol:

.did you see the photo?? Obama and Putin didn't have to meet behind closed doors....THEY weren't exchanging anything, NOT bodily fluids , not even secrets...

    Maybe you could answer this:
I've been wondering exactly what it would take for a Trumper to de-Trump themselves and actually criticize something he does....murdering someone in front of thousands of witnesses ?, selling Melania to Putin?, dancing naked on the White House lawn while barbecuing babies?? Making Putin his Chief of Staff( well, he already is) What? How far down are they willing to go?

:) Oh, look another who can't admit there are NO limits, nothing Trump would ever do bad enough for Trumpies to object to...…:)….

    :roflol::roflol: Another Trumpie stumped …

    Guess you couldn't answer this:

Guess Trump was right when he said he could shoot someone and his supporters wouldn't care....

so now it's, they either have to admit their god was wrong about that OR, they wouldn't mind if he shot someone.....what a dilemma for them ..

OK, OK. We've established that you don't know what a neocon is, or who the leading neo cons were.

On the other hand, the optics of having Putin address a Joint Session of Congress might just be the optics for the mid term elections.

I think that forcing McConnell to force his party to sit there and harrumph the Russian dictator a week or two before the election will make for great spectacle!

I must have missed the invite to have Putin address Congress.

Oh that's right, it was your holy leader, Pelosi who spazed that drivel out of her addled brain....

Guess that's why you picked up that BS to promote further.

No, she said the opposite. Contrary to your blatantly false claim.

None the less, it is customary when a head of state visits the US that they address a Joint Session of Congress.

I doubt that the Clown Prince of Kapitan Kangaroo thought about this when the dreamed up the idea of doubling down on kowtowing to Putin.

I don't know what that was supposed to mean.

I guess that you're beligerantly proud of your ignorance.

This seems to be a thing with Trump supporters.
