and what is more silly is pretending it works when it doesn't

In the last 6 months we've seen bureaucrat after bureaucrat (on full taxpayers wages) get on the damn box spouting cough numbers and telling us what we can't do and where we can't go. They've not only restricted but stopped our ability to earn and think their handouts are going to be a suitable bandaid for a broken economy & broken lives.

Don't tell me this works... it does not, It only works for bureaucrats

By the way, many agree the government is not working for them, what they don't agree on is how it should be fixed. Throwing rocks and purging systems that do work only serve the marxists. Smaller governments and cutting back on fees, licenses that suck the populace dry are sensible steps to fixing what does not work. (You can include an elected government answering to the people and not the committee of 300 to that list)

What's silly is suggesting that goernment doesn't work when you don't have any other choice.

ANYONE can whine about government. We don't need a board to whine about government.

What's not being recognized here is that there are seious reasons for licenses, permits, etc.

These features are charged to the persons wanting to make changes that will impact the lives of others.

It's far cheaper to determine ahead of time whether there will be damages. And, the cost of that determinatin is rightly charged to the individual or company wanting to make the change.

If you don't like considering those around you, then its probably best to move to a location away from people - thus encountering less regulation.

Fees are different in various countries, I pay $798 registration for my vehicle every year and yet I don't use it much. It's daylight robbery. The council just increased our quarterly property rates with $86 ($344 per year) even though the property market have gone down...(they've budgeted A$100 000 for lunches for themselves, this during a depression clearly my property taxes are being spent on sandwiches for fat councillors).

Don't tell me there are reasons... these people are fat and lazy... requiring me to sponsor their chubby sandwiches.... it's just not on.

Most Americans Think Government Does Not Work 4 Them
If you want government to make a positive difference in your life, you have to vote for candidates who recognize government as a valuable & powerful tool that CAN be used to benefit us all. Most Americans have become propagandized to believe government is inherently evil--which is nonsense. Those Americans tend to feel anger & hostility toward government, government workers (mostly good people), & politicians. They express that anger thru their vote, & cast it for candidates who reflect their own anger, which means they are voting for precisely those candidates who work to fulfill their worst expectations. Those candidates who really DO want to make government better don't get elected, & the status quo remains unchanged. It's truly sad. :(
