So, what is the most popular fast food and/or snack from where you live?

Obviously with the high amount of immigration, pretty much all of Western Europe are now seeing kebab-, falafel- and burger stands in every street corner there is, but I am more interested in national/local specialty fast foods/snacks from your country!

The rise of kebabs and pizzas during the late 1900's in Sweden eventually resulted in the two being put together, creating theb"kebabpizza" which - I believe - is quite unique for Sweden. However, here I will present the more traditional Swedish fast food of "korv med mos" which contains of mashed potatoes, hot dogs, ketchup and mustard and pickled gherkins or lingonberry jam.

Here are the big ones where I've lived:

    1. Dunkin Donuts (Boston)
    2. Cook out and Smithfield chicken and BBQ (NC)
    3. Crawfish (Mississippi)
    4. Brisket (Texas)
    5. Sausage (western Europe)

That's in no particular order but here are my favorites. Though I was only in NC for a year, I LOVED their vinegar based BBQ.

Here in America, we credit Sweden for Swedish meatballs, a most wonderful of appellations, most savory and sumptuous meat dish ever created by man or beast !

Now, for Hamburgers, it is important to get some facts straight, as far as commercial fair, you have the top two companies,
    McDonald's and Buggerking,
    There are others of course.

A better choice is off course a local Char Burger House, a place that specializes in charcoal grill cooking, steaks and burgers and barbeque, and of course, Onion rings !
Served with good beer and ale !

The meat is best if a blend, like a caseless sausage, with spices and herbs mixed in and sometimes, various meats in tasteful harmony, one caveat, either the blend will be heavenly or it will taste like hell or trash or both, and even your dog will refuse to eat it and run away.

" The rise of kebabs and pizzas during the late 1900's in Sweden eventually resulted in the two being put together, creating theb"kebabpizza" which - I believe - is quite unique for Sweden. Well, If that is Sweden's version of fast food,
    I will pass ! Yuck !

It may be a little boring, perhaps. But not as yucky as it sounds. Sometimes the hotdogs are replaced with meatballs. :)

Beats McDonald's any day....On the other hand that's not a big achievement at all. :p

    Fried Chicken from 'Chicken Shops'.
    Usually it's 99p for 3 hot wings.
Thighs and drumsticks £1.00 a piece
    Chicken Burger's like £3.50
    Fries are £1.00
Get meals; 1 piece of chicken and fries. 2 piece of chicken fries. Chicken Burger meals.... a lot of 'chicken shops'..
I have 'my one' and then there's 'one I like/on the way to the station' and then there's a regional one South London has called Morley's Chicken and some Morley's Chicken are better than other Morley's Chicken...
Also at Morley's Chicken, you could get ribs.

There's Chicken Cottage which is just another chicken shop - Which was a nice surprise on my last visit to Amsterdam, NL finding Chicken Cottage out there... The Menu was the same though the prices were in Euros but the food was better; better service, better food. And everybody eating there that night sounded like me/was British/was from home... Weird/but cool.

    Curry too...

In fact, some 'chicken shops' sell Indian food too. My one used to when it started but now they just sell chicken, but some still do.

Streatham has one that boasts being a UK first.

It's got a alcohol/liquor license and... It's not bar prices, it's off license/liquor store prices.

    From my Yelp!

My particular neighbourhood has a lot of Jamaican places to eat which are 98% fast food and 1 restaurant and 1 bakery.
So... In and amongst all the chicken shops, fish & chips, Kebabs, Indian and Chinese Food and Subways and the local pizza place (there's like 1 Wimpy Burger that nobody uses) there's loads of Jamaican places to eat. Some serving breakfast, some selling school meals, some doing jerked meats only... That's unique to my area and is popular here.

    Fish and chips.
Not for me, I don't eat dead animals, but still the most popular fast food around here.

Taco Bueno for tex mex drive thru. Steak is king for dining in. We like the Outback chain. Quik Trip convenience store for a quick pizza slice, hot dog or sausage with all the toppings.

My daughter's boyfriend is Vegan. I like to invite him over for dinner and have gotten into Vgan recipes and really enjoy the color as well as the flavor.
