https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/m...guest-lists-to-ice/ar-BBVHyV2?ocid=spartanntp While I am extremely right in my leaning and totally support ICE going after these folks I think I do have to side with this result. I expect privacy when I go to a hotel, (for obvious reasons) so if they do this for this circumstance who is to say mine won't be next? It is a slippery slope and one that we must be wary of.
Not sure about America, but here the hotel would be found liable for trading with undocumented people in any transaction where ID is required (photo ID for citizens, valid passport for foreign nationals). Businesses are obliged by law to report any non-compliance.
I've no problem abiding by the law. Where is "here" by the way Crank, don't think I've ever learned that?
You'd have to dob them in to ICE, here. Else YOU could wind up in jail. Just like Rudy (Ska reference). PS: here is not there. I'm upside down. Or you are.
And yet we have this going on... Domestic Privacy and Spying by the National Security Agency WA state only seems to care when it's the privacy of illegal aliens at risk.
I'll agree that Motel 6 should've requested that a warrant be issued first, but beyond that, I don't see why any citizen should be concerned, provided that they have nothing to do with illegal immigration. I'm guessing that ICE was probably just as interested in companies who're employing illegals, as they were the illegals themselves.
I think the problem is, they gave Americans information along with those they suspected... thus broke the trust of the people staying there, they are off my list of places to stay
I agree, had they requested a warrant, they would not be in the hot water they are in now not sure if correct, but what I heard is they were working with ice, when someone came in they thought might be an illegal they notified ice... only not all of those were illegals yep, but when a company is caught they only get a hand slap.... I am a long time believer that we should go after the employers... no jobs for illegals and they all come legally
And this attitude of yours has nothing to do with your feelings over illegal immigration? It's so rare to encounter a citizen so concerned about civil liberties and privacy!
