The N.Y. Times reports, "President Trump was involved in discussions to build a skyscraper in Moscow throughout the entire 2016 Presidential campaign, his personal lawyer said on Sunday, a longer and more significant role for Mr. Trump than he had previously acknowledged."

Trump acknowledged discussing the Moscow project with Cohen in written responses that the President gave Mueller’s investigators. “There were questions like, ‘Did you talk about the Moscow project with Michael Cohen?’ to which we answered yes,” Giuliani said.

The Trump Tower Moscow discussions were “going on from the day I announced to the day I won,” Giuliani quoted Trump as saying during an interview with Times.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/20/us/politics/trump-tower-moscow-cohen-giuliani.html

Giuliani also was asked on Sunday about the time frame of the conversations between Trump and Cohen on the proposed Trump Tower project in Moscow."What did President Trump have to say about the Trump Moscow project?" in Trump's written responses to Mueller's questions.

Giuliani said Trump "acknowledged that they had conversations about it throughout 2015, 2016."

"So what if he talked to him about it?" Giuliani said.

The significance of Trump running for President while trying to swing a deal with the Russian government seems to be lost on Trump's lawyer.

Even Trump can't understand the importance of an American Presidential candidate trying to make a deal with the Russian government. "I wasn’t trying to hide anything. We decided — I decided ultimately not to do it. There would have been nothing wrong if I did do it,” Trump told reporters.

We know he did do it.

Why do you refuse to accept what the Mueller team said?

There may be something to that BuzzFeed article after all. Keep in mind, Mueller never said BuzzFeed's accusations were false. Mueller was solely concerned about the evidence his investigators had dug up.

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Trump said during the Presidential campaign.

"I think that we would have a chance to have a very good relationship with Russia and a very good chance -- a very good relationship with President Putin." "You know what? Putin's fine. He's fine. We're all fine," Trump said during the Presidential campaign.

Putin's main adversary is NATO. Trump had this to say about NATO in January 2017. “It’s obsolete, first because it was designed many, many years ago. Secondly, countries aren’t paying what they should and NATO didn’t deal with terrorism.”

During the Helsinki summit, Trump said he addressed Russia's interference in the U.S. 2016 election and that Putin was "extremely strong" in his denials. "I have President Putin, he just said it's not Russia. I will say this. I don't see any reason why it would be," Trump said. He continued: “So I have great confidence in my intelligence people, but I will tell you that President Putin was extremely strong and powerful in his denial today.”

Trump has never forcefully admitted that Russia, and Russia alone, was responsible for interfering in our Presidential election. Our intelligence agencies place the blame squarely on Moscow and for Trump's benefit.

Trump recently ordered U.S. forces out of Syria, ceding the region to Russia.

Trump wants $5.7B for a border wall. In December, the Senate passed a CR knowing Trump agreed to sign it. Trump changed his mind and shut the government down, saying he was proud to do so. “If we don’t get what we want, one way or the other, whether it’s through you, through military, through anything you want to call, I will shut down the government,” Trump said. “And I am proud. I’ll tell you what. I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck.

Yes, there may be something to that BuzzFeed article. Trump appears eager to please the Russian government. He hired people like Cohen, Manafort and Gates, who had deep Russian connections, to do the dirty work.

Still another Trump fan with a severe reading problem. You didn't read the article and you didn't read what I said:

"It should be noted that Mueller did not deny the accusation that Trump asked Cohen to lie. He said, "BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the special counsel’s office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s congressional testimony are not accurate."

"Some observers think Mueller is feeling deeply proprietary about his evidence and does not want premature disclosure of interviews with multiple witnesses from the Trump Organization, internal company emails, text messages, and a cache of other documents.

"That would explain why Mueller would not explain how or what BussFeed got wrong.

"In other words, Mueller was solely concerned about his evidence."

Based on their own responses it appears as though the only way Trump fans can defend Trump is through sheer ignorance.

Yes, Comey abused his authority, but, according to Trump, that is not why Trump fired him.

Why are you dealing with events a year and a half old and older? The fact that you refused to deal with events that are happening today is a sure sign of weakness common among Trump supporters. They are unable to defend what Trump does and says. You simple ignore those events that I and others describe.

    That's pretty weak.

Well according to Mueller they got documents and testimony wrong. One thing wrong and you can’t trust any of it. Just common sense.

BuzzFeed said that Trump told Cohen to lie to Congress. This makes perfect sense. What doesn't make sense is that, all on his own, Cohen decided to lie to Congress, a serious felony, to protect Trump and Trump had nothing to do with it. That's absurd.

We know from Trump's lawyer, Giuliani, that negotiations with the Russian government concerning a Moscow Trump Tower lasted until November 2016. That is the answer Trump gave to a question Mueller asked.

Trump would not want voters to know he was negotiating a hotel in Moscow while running for President. We are to believe he said nothing about this to his personal lawyer who was about to testify before Congress? That is a bit of a stretch, isn't it?

Do you really believe Trump never told Cohen to lie?

So what? Not against the law to do business with Russia and you are going to take Cohen's, an admitted liar, word for it based on what another outlet that has gotten many things wrong in a rush to publish?

The smarter Trump fans are leaving this thread alone. They have been beat.

Very wise decision. Their posts were getting a little ridiculous and remarkably irrelevant.

Doing business with the Russian government while running for the President of the United States is not against the law, but it is political suicide.

Are you from around here? Or are you from Russia? You seem to think it is okay for a candidate for President having dealings with the Russian government. That raises questions about your origin.

See what I mean about these guys digging a hole for themselves. Amazing. Well, most voted for Trump. That says a lot.

A global businessman does business where he/she can. It is only the current Russia phobia and TDS from the left that it is now a concern.

Trump is no negotiator. He never was. He father set him up with billions and extremely capable people so the empire his father created would not collapse under Donald's leadership.

What do I base that on? Trump's record as President. He hasn't negotiated a thing.

So Trump agreeing to the wall that Border Patrol and Homeland Security requested is not a change to his beautiful wall from coast to coast but Pelosi's refusal to negotiate what they requested is. Liberal Logic 101.

    Trump caved.

Trump agreed Friday to reopen the government on Democratic terms until Feb. 15 while Congress works to come to a deal on border security. Open the government for three weeks without funding for the wall, begin negotiations on border security, and immediately pay the federal workers who have been working without pay is exactly what the Democrats wanted.

In addition, the sixth close associate to Trump and a senior advisor to him on the campaign was arrested and indicted. The other five are convicted felons and facing jail time.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders was heard saying, "This has nothing to do with the President and certainly nothing to do with the White house." I have to hand it to her. You got to have balls to say something like that.

The indictment contains this ominous statement. "After the July 22, 2016, release of stolen (Democratic National Committee) emails by Organization 1 [WikiLeaks], a senior Trump Campaign official was directed to contact STONE about any additional releases and what other damaging information Organization 1 had regarding the Clinton Campaign. STONE thereafter told the Trump Campaign about potential future releases of damaging material by Organization 1."

Who had the authority to direct a "senior Trump Campaign official?

Roger Stone's hero is Richard Nixon.

Similar to Paul Manafort, Mike Flynn, George Papadopulous, Rick Gates, and Michael Cohen, Stone showed defiance at his arrest, imitating Nixon's salute.

Well, we all know what happened to Nixon and the others.
