Since Muhammad owned slaves and fought so that others could own slaves, should we begin removing and/or relocating mosques so that the public won't feel unsafe and/or unwelcome at the sight of buildings where a 7th Century slave owner is revered?

In the past I would have opposed even considering such a ridiculous suggestion, but now that the politically-correct and perpetually-offended forces of special snowflakery are afoot, I suggest we consider accommodating their precious sensibilities by removing these buildings, relocating them out of the view of the public or covering them with tarps. Perhaps, we could get Christo to wrap the larger ones in cloth and make works of art out of these potentially offensive buildings?

Now that "progressives" are calling for the removal of plaques, statues and buildings invoking the memory of men like Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and Robert E. Lee because they owned slaves or fought so others could own them, I submit that it's time to call for the removal and/or relocation of any object invoking the memory of Muhammad, because he owned slaves and fought so that others could own slaves.

My only question is why haven't "progressives" been calling on the removal of any object related to Muhammad along with those associated with Jefferson or Washington or Lee? Muhammad's legacy has been far more bloody, destructive and controversial than those of the aforementioned Americans, so what gives"?

Could it be "progressive" double-standards and hypocrisy or is there more to this than meets the eye? Could racism, religious bigotry, anti-Americanism and other less than noble factors be what lies behind the facade of "sensitivity" and "inclusion"?

All I know is that if Jefferson and Washington have to go, so does Muhammad, and while we're at it, so does this "progressive" mass-murderer:

This is horrible. Anything connected to slave owners should be removed immediately

Feel free to have all statues of Mohammed removed from the US as well as all likenesses of him of any kind. Oh wait, there aren't any...

Omg that's so racist and offensive! To make matters worse there are still slaves owned by some Muslims to this day.

I cannot allow these symbols of oppression to remain in the United States.

"Muhammad owned slaves - Should we remove mosques from U.S.?"

the bible says it's ok to beat slaves, should we remove churches from the US

I say the answer to both is no, BUT, the government should not be erecting either on government land

the difference is government sponsored vs private sponsored

It is of my opinion that even if the liberals history is correct (which it's not), that the statues should remain. For even if they are of evil people they still remind us of our history, which gives understanding as to not repeat the history. I mean if an area of history is bad and evil, why would we erase them from the books? Statues are nothing more than a reminder, anything more one might as well describe them as....................... "the golden calf". Such as the liberals are doing. They are acting as if these statues are the problem (their problem), and not the actual problem (which there is none) I only say that on their behalf.

Now why don't they go after all ancient Egypt statues and symbolism, for nobody was as evil as them. Are they going to take down the pyramids. I think what we're seeing is nothing more than a childish tempertantrum. With the kids on the ground, kicking their feet at the air and on the ground, and only creating more problems for themselves.

the confederates fought a war against this country and lost, we do not honor the losers on pedestals on the state house lawn nor their flags, those need to be moved to museums

The Indians were victims, the Confederates were not, I would think you just offended them saying they were like the Confederates

yes, I understand why you want to change the subject when you learn Christians and Mulimis have felt they both had a God given right to own slaves... course they both believed in the same Jewish God, so the fact that they share beliefs is not surprising

It's bad enough you tried to change the subject, but it's even worse that you had to lie about it.

Sorry, but only, and I mean only Whites and Christians who owned Black slaves are the bad guys. Progressives could not give one hoot in Hell about the slavery of Mohammed and Islam, or the millions still in slavery to this day in Africa and the Mid-East.

Fair enough, I made a false assumption based on Islamic beliefs about portrayals of the prophet. I'd love to see that come down along with the other religious icons located there.

Mosques aren't government buildings. They wouldn't fit in with the movement to remove government statues and monuments to confederate soldiers or former slave owners.

I did no such thing, I simply made a comparison and gave my opinion of how each should be treated
