    This was my guitar stock;

Yeah... This was also me doing something else too; making a kill-switch with my Gibson Les Paul stock.

It's like anything else you want to do well. It takes patience, practice, a decent teacher helps, and a shitload of determination.

Just start slow and learn a few simple songs. Have fun with it.

... he couldn't play no more.

My hubby plays guitar and keyboard. He has been playing for about 50 years now but past few years he has slowed down to hardly playing at all.
He started pop, country then classic rock and some blues. His father played Steel guitar mostly all his brothers play guitars, drums, keyboard and sing.

Long Haired Country Boy, Green River CCR , he sings plays Hell Or High Water he does pretty good.

Google " Play The Piano In A Flash" unless you plan on being concert pianist that is all the lessons you need.

Yesterday I had a beer with some pretzels that I bought...
And under the influence of that beer, I jumped on my guitar (no literally) but I picked it up, and worked out a piece of a song 'I see songs as different pieces stringed together' - I learned a piece in minutes last night that was... 18 or 17 years in the learning...
A piece, part of a song I always winged it through because I didn't write it/I just wanted to play it, and last night, jamming on my guitar, I cracked it/think I've got it.
<- (Was originally posted on Instagram).
It was the middle of the night (mid week weekend/not a school night) so I was on my guitar (an electric guitar), but was fine/am fine with playing it with my guitar amplifier turned off.
But in doing that, you could hear the guitar's tone for what it is/the wood it's made out of etc etc, all make for the guitar's tone, and unplugged, I can hear it too in this video.

My guitar I bought on 21/11/2017

    This is it now.

I decided to record myself playing what I play (more or less) to Hotel California.
Ever since, God, 2007, me and my guitarist buddy playing this song, I have this thing that I always play/hear to that track...
I haven't played it in so long, but I remember it still, and 10 years later (11 years maybe)... I decided to document it.

    I paid £3, 995.00 for a 2005 old new stock Gibson R7.
I also spent £145.00 on the pickups I like and £60.00 on a new TonePros bridge I like (£50.00 for the part, £10.00 to have it installed).
    £4, 200.00 in total.

Hey, no offense but I teach guitar and could probably help you quite a bit. A few questions, do you know your notes? Any scale or theory knowledge? Intervals? Can PM me if you would like.

Is it because I spent £4, 200.00 last month on a guitar or what?

I said I was sorry. Come on, I’m a huge fan of guitar players. I can tell, with just a little bit more knowledge, you will move quick. You have skills, just need those pieces filled in.

Don't worry, I've been playing for 18 and a half years... I guess its never too late to still say you're learning.
I guess I could always hone my skill.

I've redesigned and customised guitars too and had them built, trying out famous parts and stuff...
All the while, since ever, wanting the guitar I got in November 2017/day after my birthday too, so it was like a birthday present to myself/that guitar.

I only mean the best bro. I was thinking of taking lessons again to really hone in blues outside the box but I think I’m on to it for now and still open to paying the right teacher. Satriani taught Vai and Hammett after they were successful. We will never stop learning and growing.

I'm more feeling than text book though I've got love for text book.
I don't want to sound like Satrani or Vai or DragonForce (that whole fast for fast sake robitic stuff)...
I like Steve Vai's Bad Horsie for getting the guitar to sound like a horse, but other than that, I'm more Jimi Hendrix and Slash bends and Carlos Santana note sustain.

I love high end/expensive guitars, they're close to sex for me, and my 2005 Gibson R7 Les Paul, is amazing.
Plus it's been the one guitar I've coveted since ever with/the dawn of guitar playing and me and I assumed it would always be hard to find (it was kind of lucky finding one) and I always thought it would be out of my budget (but it wasn't).
