Now, if we could only get enough people interested. I'm up for it, and think it would be really interesting to see what we all come up with. For example, someone would play some Rock or Metal and someone else might do a classical interpretation, and then I would do a Jazz improvisation based upon what I am hearing. I think it would not only let us understand each others musical styles, but it's kind of like a very modern version of Call and Response.

Maybe someone could suggest this being a 'topic' on the boards..We'd all have to get new screen names though..it would be terrible if 'politics' got involved.

Self recording is really a pain in the arse. First you have to learn all the parts on all the instruments after you write the songs. Then you have to learn how to use the recorder and record each instrument. The manual for my recorder is three hundred pages, and trying to understand what it's saying is like learning to speak Greek. It takes about 40 to 50 hours work per song, but lots cheaper than going to a studio. My third CD is still only half arsed. The editing, overdubbing, panning, virtual takes, ping ponging, and mastering are very time consuming and tedious, especially when you're totally self taught like me. I call the help line a lot. Then there's the CD cover graphics and the duplicating. I never wanted to be an engineer, I just wanted to play music. I hope I win the power ball so I can hire people to do all the yuk stuff.

I am a rythym guitarist/bassist, or a glorified bassist. I like laying down riffs and making new songs. I learned how to jam from an old high school friend I met in the '80's. We have 48 solid songs plus another 25 one timers/good jams and have been at it for 25 years this year.

It's one of the most fun things you can do.

It saddens me to see Leon in such bad shape. I've been a fan since Mad Dogs & Englishmen.

No melody in rap. No offense for your cup of tea, it just that the con message is such jive.

    Sure there's melody...

Maybe not in the recitation of the lyrics, but, there's the production...

    Oh, no...

I made an EP about 6 months ago with some slightly dated material that just needed to be released before it got even more stagnant...

I'm not very punctual with my music deadlines...

    Basically, it's a short album...

Just a few songs, typically put out as a go-between, leading up to other projects...

I went to the kitchen to make some oatmeal
It was late and I wanted a fourth meal
(*)(*)(*)(*) didn't taste good 'cause it was stale
Like eating sand at the beach out of a pale
I decided I wanted some chicken instead
I ate that (*)(*)(*)(*) and then went to bed

    LMAO!!!

I tried to find a pic from that Dave Chappelle skit in the barber shop where the crowd gets hype, but I couldn't...

It would have been so appropriate...

Had it been live, I wouldn't have been able to respond from laughing...

So, I suppose that might equate to me taking an L...
