    Try picking a country or countries more representative of the US.

    Would Democrats have done better?.......Argumentative.

    What about ''We, The People''?

    In the Vietnam war, WE had superior weapons, however, we didn't stopped the spread of communism. In addition, WE'VE also faught an invisible enemy......the Viet Cong Guerrillas.

    Well, the Taiwanese didn't have superior weapons, and yet, without a vaccine, and no lockdowns, they've successfully stopped the spread of Covid19.

    Taiwan's population; 24 million
    Taiwan's number of Covid19 deaths per 1M pop; 0.3, thus, one Covid19 death per 3 million pop
    Population density; 1,742 citizens per sq. miles

    Thus, how they've won a war against an invisible enemy, without a vaccine, no lockdowns, and no superior weapons?

    There is only one answer; Sustainable discipline, both collectively and individually.

    Last, all of the above, a fair comparison.

    Access to Taiwan is very limited. Find a country which is comparable to the US rather than just cherry picking those that have done better.

    Question; Did Trump failed to reduce the U.S. Trade deficit?

    Well, he certainly didn't reduce it below 2016 level;

    U.S. trade balance for 2020, with ALL trading partners through October 2020; $738B
    https://fas.org/sgp/crs/row/IF10619.pdf

    Thus, 2020, undoubtedly a record high.

    • U.S. trade balance for 2019 was $-617B, a 1.7% decline from 2018
    • U.S. trade balance for 2018 was $-638.21B, a 10.93% increase from 2017.
    • U.S. trade balance for 2017 was $-575.34B, a 10.9% increase from 2016.
    • U.S. trade balance for 2016 was $-518.81B, a 0.2% decline from 2015.
    • U.S. trade balance for 2015 was $-519.85B, a 2.4% increase from 2014
    • U.S. trade balance for 2014 was $-507.66B, a 3.5% increase from 2013
    • U.S. trade balance for 2013 was $-490.78B, a 15.8% decline from 2012

    Let's continue with the above-mentioned facts.....

    What everyone knows about trade; Value of goods exported MINUS Value of goods imported in USD equates to a deficit, or surplus.

    What most people don't know is how do exports and imports affect the economy?

    Basically, there are 3 classification of exported/imported goods;

    1. Raw materials
    2. Semi-finished products
    3. Finished products

    For example, most goods we import from China are finished products, such as TOYS, and economically, TOYS generate retail jobs/low paying jobs.

    Most goods we import from Canada are raw materials, and semi-finished products, such as Crude oil, and Plywood, thus, economically, said products generate high paying trade jobs.

    In other words, economically, a trade deficit with XYZ country isn't necessarily unfair.

    Western Europe is closest to the US. The states determine what will be done in their states. The countries in Western Europe determine what will be done in their countries. The countries in Western Europe are similar to our states in geography and freedom of movement.

    Several times, YOU asked me to find a COUNTRY comparable to the U.S., and Western Europe isn't a country. Therefore, think before you post!

    You're not taking this seriously, so my comments on your messages will likely be limited to countering Trumpian propaganda I see you promoting.

    Last......

    Question: Why IMPORTS are equally important, especially raw materials, and semi-finished products?

    Answer; BECAUSE GDP measures the dollar value of finished products and services.

    For example;

    The TOYS we import from China, and then, sell to American consumers pay for;

    Shipping jobs, wharehousing jobs, Administration jobs, wholesale jobs, retail jobs, cleaning jobs, utilities, ect., ect, ect.

    HOWEVER, the raw materials, and semi-finished products we import from Canada pay for; All of the above, AND MANUFACTURING jobs!

    YOU SAID; Western Europe is closest to the US. The states determine what will be done in their states. The countries in Western Europe determine what will be done in their countries. The countries in Western Europe are similar to our states in geography and freedom of movement.

    ---------------

    Question; What countries are considered Western Europe?

    Apparently, there is really no clear answer, as there is no clear definition of Western Europe, and according to my search, found multiple sites, different numbers;

    44 countries
    28 countries
    23 countries

    Thus, your next post, please list them all.

    Which Countries Are Considered Western Europe?

    Conclusion

    Various groups and organization lists different countries as belonging to Western Europe. CIA lists Belgium, France, Ireland, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands and United Kingdom as the only countries belonging to the Western Europe. The confusion is because the term is not official like the EU.

    You're misrepresenting Canada as not comparable to the United States.

    These two coins are the same size, thus, they are comparable.

    Not the same size, thus, not comparable
