My wish is that it will happen today. The U.S. is a cancer that has instigated every war we've seen since the 1950's.

But by then the Nazis had already surrendered to the USSR. The "western" proclamation of victory was an orchestrated surrender to make it seem that the western allies had won the war. But they were too late. Hitler was dead and the Third Reich was already ganz kaputt.

Oh. Was it the Russians who lied about WMD's in Irak?
I see. So it was Germany that leeched off the U.S. in order to succeed in rocketry?

The boogyman was created (and still resides) in the U.S. American endeavours to export fear abroad has only mildly succeeded. In Europe, we are not quivering in fear of a Russian or German invasion. In fact, the only concerns we have stem from U.S. military presence on our soil.

    1. Because it is virtual military occupation and
    2. It gives anyone with a legitimate grudge against the U.S. an excuse to wage terrorist acts on our continent.

Believe it or not...most people tend to focus on things from this century in discussion and generally stay on topic.

Nope, the Nazis surrendered to the Western Allies and the Russkies simultaneously on 7. May 1945.

The Nazis surrendered in Berlin to the USSR on May 2, 1945. Dörnitz (as has been pointed out) wanted favours and leniency from the west and made a calculated, mock surrender 5 days later to western allies. This was for rather obvious reasons as the Soviets were bent on revenge for what the Germans had done throughout their push and retreat in the “east”. But no matter how you slice it, the war was over by May 2nd.

I see. So all of the superior technology the U.S. "leeched" up until 20 years ago doesn't count. :roflol:

On the contrary, bull -- although the Nazis did make extensive use of slave labor during the last half of the war, before the war, in Germany, many thousands of young German men enthusiastically worked in the ranks of the Reichsarbeitsdienst.

It was the very patriotic, nationalistic thing to do, of course -- but it also provided WORK, food, shelter, clothing and wages at a time when the rest of the world was roiling in the Great Depression!

No... all during the 1930's, these people were very proud of themselves, their work, their uniforms, and all the rest of it. Most, however, joined the fighting ranks of the Wehrmacht by the beginning of WWII....

Nope...not in this debate.....maybe you should make a thread about it so we can all discuss obvious historical fact.

You and I both probably need to take refresher courses in German  , but, yes, in general, good, productive work ennobles each of us, and the money it earns does free us from dependency on handout-welfare from a Nanny State government....

A perfect slave owner can convince his slaves that slave labor makes them happy.

But after the war, the poor little Naziboys did realize how Hitler misused them. :(

Yeah, 'hindsight' is always 20-20, as they say. The Vietnam War comes immediately to mind. When hyperliberal Democrat demi-god, Lyndon Johnson went BIG into Vietnam in spring of 1965 after leveraging his blatant LIE about a "Gulf of Tonkin" incident, it seemed like it would be a successful matter involving no more than a few months. 'Lyin' Lyndon' could have been an understudy to Hitler when it came to deliberately misleading people....

Ten years later we were all breathing a huge sigh of relief when that whole, rotten, stinking, useless, winless thing was finally OVER WITH!

But we were lucky. Hitler destroyed Germany and left it cut into four pieces, with millions killed. Johnson (and later, Nixon) only got about 60,000 American military personnel killed, and maybe a quarter of a million others badly wounded or otherwise screwed up for most of the rest of their lives.

Anyway, if you have anything other than your own subjective opinion to support a statement that the RAD was a slave-labor situation, please share it, because I've never heard anyone else say that.

Entire Nazi Germany was not free. The secret police and the "Volksgerichtshof" were Hitler's terrorist instruments against the German people, dear Polly.

Those who did not take part voluntarily could quickly get into serious trouble. :(
Nazi Germany was not a funny amusement park, even if the NS propaganda wanted it to look that way.

So, what is it you think Germany is "leeching" off the U.S?

It is estimated that at least 700,000 people attended the Nazi Party Rallies in Nürnberg regularly during the 1930's. Considering that the population of the entire country of Germany back then was around 66 - 67 million, that wasn't a bad turnout.

And when you see the old film archives of what those big rallies were like you sure as hell did not get the impression that anybody was having a bad time, or that they were being forced to attend against their will.

Today's revisionist propaganda spinners like to paint a picture of how everybody in Germany back then was living in horrible fear and abject misery, but there is plenty of evidence, in movies, old audio recordings, books, and documentaries that certainly prove otherwise. In fact, although a surprisingly small percentage of German citizens were actually Nazi Party members (less than 20%), Hitler's policies were very popular and Germans were very happy until after Stalingrad, when they started losing the war....

Anyway, I asked you if you had any evidence that the Reichsarbeitdienst during the 1930's was some kind of 'slave labor' series of 'gulags', and you showed us nothing. You would have had a very hard time finding any, because the guys who worked in RAD liked being there, liked their work, and loved their country!

Compare those young German workers in the RAD with their counterparts in present-day America --

Such unhealthy way of life is a free decision.

These people in Nazi-controlled countries could not choose freely:

You quoted this "double" post of mine (in full) and replied ........
Sticking with your comment I replied with .......
In future, I suggest that you be more specific about the direction of your comments and be more diligent/selective in the quotes that you employ. That way misunderstandings such as this one can be avoided.

How many of these poor people were enrolled in the Reichsarbeitdienst (RAD)...?

Hör mal, pitbull! Nobody is saying that the Nazis did not use slave-labor during World War II. The willing participation of Germans in the Reichsarbeitdienst during the 1930's -- before the war -- was a different situation and matter all by itself! You are trying to paint too many totally different things with the 'same brush'....

Back on topic -- now the Verteidigungsministerin of the Bundeswehr, "AKK", is giving up hope of ever becoming the successor to Merkel! The Germany military is in a HELL of a mess right now, and "Die Linke" and "gut menschen" want it to go away completely!
Soon, your only hope will be the AfD!

This "willing participation" was the result of Hitler's successful psychological warfare against the Germans. Hitler needed soldiers and female birthing machines to wipe out Eastern European residents and colonize their territory. Why you're playing down the Nazis and their crimes?

The AfD is a new and smaller version of the historic Nazi party NSDAP. Old-school Nazi crap, indeed. If you really hate the Germans, there's nothing you can do better than advise them to vote for the AfD. :(

I see that it is not possible to reason with you, and that's a pity. But, I will try one last time to convince you that Germans working together to build Germany, during the 'Great Depression', and after a humiliating, disastrous defeat in World War One, was not (NOT) a bad thing.

Nazis throwing German Jews out of Germany was a horrible injustice -- for many of those German-Jewish families had been good citizens for hundreds of years. Many of their young men fought and died for Kaiser Wilhelm II in World War I. The Nazis forced all kinds of oppression on other people, too -- but creating a work-force to build infrastructure throughout the country was not (NOT) a bad thing -- especially when it provided "arbeit und brot" (work and bread) for poverty-stricken young Germans who wanted to take pride in supporting themselves and doing something really GOOD for Germany!

If you dislike the Germany-loving AfD so much, then ask yourself -- how much do you like the changes that Kanzlerin Merkel brought on you, especially after she and the other pan-Europa EU stooges flooded your country with disruptive dreck from the Middle East?

[IMG]. "Am wichtigsten: Sie müssen gegen die AfD kämpfen!" :furious:

    We can agree on that.

I don't like "Die Linke" and the AfD as well. I am a true liberal who rejects political extremism. I prefer capitalism over socialism. As a German citizen, I vote for the FDP. :)
