    New here after tiring of another forum after getting thoroughly disgusted with fb. Hoping this place will be more civil and enlightening.

    Hello & welcome.
    I don't use Facebook and dropped out of other forums after finding this one.

    My experience has been that civil comments usually always bring civil responses.

    I also think that you will be pleased with the quality of some of the discussions from which I've learned a few things and felt compelled to become better informed by doing additional research.

    Finally, I feel that it's fully possible to disagree on issues and do so with respect & civility.

    I look forward to hearing your areas of interest & reading some of your comments even if I disagree with them.

    After all, think how boring it would be if everyone held the same opinions.

    Again, welcome & I hope you enjoy yourself.

    Greetings etc.. This is a very good forum, in my opinion. Lots of quality people here from both Left and Right. Be sure to be able to back up any factual assertion you make. Follow my example and keep all your posts short. No one wants to read some long-winded pontificator who thinks he's in a lecture hall and has a captive audience who have to listen to him for an hour.

The place is big enough that there is no need to take things personally and you will meet some nice, like minded people on here as well. Speak your mind and be ready to back up what you say. People will challenge you no matter what your opinion.
