I suppose it could if a member of Congress declared Trump their Messiah

What's next? Are we going to have congresswomen wearing a burka?

Below picture is from the National Assembly of Afghanistan:

Christians wear crosses in Congress, we have seen them, I have no issue with that

now if either group wants to pass blasphemy laws, ect.... then we have a issue

personally I think the pledge should remove the words 'Under God' as not everyone believes in the Christian\Muslim God, forcing children to recite that daily is pushing theism on other peoples children

That pesky freedom of religion we have here...

Maybe you'd be happier in Afghanistan?

Not that it's really relevant here, but you twist the meaning of "religious freedom" to make it mean something that's not actually in the Constitution.

Bottom line: the rule is unconstitutional.

Something isn't unconstitutional just because it goes against your religion.

"Separation of church and state" is just something liberals invented.
It's not actually in the Constitution.

(I think Jefferson might have made some mention towards the basic concept, but he was hardly representative of all the founders)

The First Amendment only stipulates that Congress is not going to specifically single out and target any particular religion.
If you belong to a Satanic death cult, it doesn't give you the right to capture government workers for your human sacrifices, even if your religion demands it.

If a Gebonee does not believe in God then do not say that part of the pledge.

It would be funny if a Nun who has a habit of wearing her Habit at all times got elected to Congress would she be told to Lise her Habit or she cannot take her place in Congress?

The government must show compelling interest to deny you religious liberty. What is the compelling interest in this case
