My opinion on this is, I think every player should kneel during the Anthem of first game of the season & no team pay any fine,----- ever----
As this issue is not about disrespect for the flag, if it was I would agree with the owners---
It is with great sadness that trump has now done the "dictator" thing to a "game" folks, to a "game"!

If its not about disrespecting the flag then why do they choose to do it during the anthem?

Do you not get that the owners of teams are allowing players to stay in the locker room but not allowed to kneel on the field during the anthem?

The owners have RULES for players to follow. The NFL is losing revenue and interest from the people.

You are supposed to kneel before God, priests, kings, queens, and dictators. So how exactly do you construe kneeling as being disrespectful?

It is a culture war on freedom of speech. It isn't surprising that the typical football fan can't understand that what the flag represents is the right being denied. There is no better way of disrespecting the flag than to deny basic rights. Yeah, the NFL is in bad spot. And frankly I could care less except that popular opinion is to deny freedom of speech. That is pathetically sad and hypocritical. And it is a war on freedom of speech started by trump.

The NFL even told us all why they came up with the policy. They are listening to the people and are tired of losing money over this issue. It's their stage and if they want their franchises and employees to stand for the National Anthem that is their businesses. The teams and players can obey, pay the fine, or quit.

Players and teams can buy advertising time and kneel all they want. Stealing the voice of the NFL is not free speech.

If youre argument is they are respecting the flag by kneeling...we are done. I have a 0 tolerance for facebook level posts. Every PF member knows exactly why they are kneeling and it isnt because they are showing respect for the flag.

The NYT is worthy of a gossip news stand at the grocery checkout counter and nothing more.

When players cause lower revenue for owners, they deserve to be fired and owners are letting them off easy. As revenue falls, so does player salaries. Get it?

There is no right being denied. Period. When you work for someone you do what they tell you. If they dont like it they are free to kneel all they want and the NFL is free to fire their scumbag asses for costing them money. No right violated at all.

Or they could do the grown adult thing and understand that they work FOR an employER whose policies should be respected by you the employEE and if you don't like them then you are not obligated to continue working there.

There's a whole lot of policies at my job that I don't agree with nor particularly like but I adhere to them because I like money and have bills to pay and I understand that in the real world you get fired for openly disregarding the policies of your employer.

But hey these guys are rich. Stand up for what you believe in. Quit. They have the money....

Or they can suck it up and adhere to their employers policies like the rest of the real world does whether we like it or not and drive on.

Another great example of how it's not very smart to make your customers angry.

It's real polarizing in the league, both Buffalo/NY Jets owners have spoken out against the league's wider proposal(It'd be interesting to see the voting lines.) My personal opinion is that the protests didn't respect the flag, or America. In my childhood, I admit to not giving a damn about the pledge of allegiance when we had to stand in school. But to make any sort of political statement during the anthem is like spitting on your neighbors IMO.

There are valid places to protest, but during work hours(which for them is the game) and in an event meant to be non-political to begin with is simply too much. Especially when they aren't protesting civil rights, they're protesting the country's existence itself.

If they don't watch football, how does that translate to loss of revenue?

umm....because the NFL's squishy, placating nonsense turned off a bunch of paying customers who happen to love America and her Anthem and traditions.

Apparently the NFL was hurt enough by the boycott. Money speaks louder than a few anti American fools.

The NFL is a business. Enough of its customers didn’t like the spoiled millionaires’ juvenile behavior that revenues were down almost 10% last season. That’s $2B in real money.
