"Today, investors on Robinhood are buying Nike stock 300% more than they are selling, compared to 12% last week," Sahill Poddar, the app's data scientist, said Tuesday. "Investors in Oregon, where Nike is headquartered, are buying the stock 850% more than they are selling."

Lets see where they are in 6 months. Single day rises & falls are fun for speculators & commentators. Big companies have a different perspective.

I note with amusement that right wingers around here are back on the 'respect veterans' train after their five minutes of hate against McCain. I guess its easier to respect veterans in the abstract, rather than when they are actual people. I also notice that suddenly the right of private companies to censor is in fashion again...at least until you all start calling for the regulation or breakup of online companies you don't like.

This stuff is just too funny. Have fun burning burning your shoes.

Why is he a loser? What I can't understand is you guys hate him because you claim he is disrespecting the flag, but you guys want to keep statues and the Confederate Flag flying. The Confederacy was traitors who wanted to destroy the United States and the US Flag that you guys claim to love and honor so much. Can you explain that?

It is funny. Nike thought they were being bold and ahead of the curve with Kaepernick. Instead, they were just clueless libs, completely out of step with America.

He's a loser because he sucked at his profession (professional QB) and he'll completely fail as the face of a corporation because most of America thinks he's a jerk.

When was the last time you bought a pair of Nikes? They are not targeting folks who buy Nikes every 5 or 10yrs, they are targeting the folks who buy their products monthly or every other month. Let's see where they are in about 2 mos.

Uh I wouldn't call making it to a Superbowl a failure.

Yea that is what most right wingers have always thought of the folks who stand up against racism and discrimination. Right wingers didn't start quote Dr. King until after he was dead. The same things were said about Muhammad Ali when he changed his name and refused to go to Vietnam, how about Tommie Smith and John Carlos and the list goes on and on. I noticed you didn't want to comment on the support for the Confederacy.

But the 40% of the population who support kneeling for the national anthem ARE Nike's target customer? That doesn't seem like a very effective marketing and business strategy to me!

Because he is a shockingly poor quarterback and is no longer playing!

I don't think that you can call them "libs" because this campaign is not political. It is purely CAPITALISTIC! Their problem is, that the majority of the country DO NOT support kneeling for the national anthem!

Their stock went down yesterday by three points. Perhaps they should have thought harder.

So now Nike are 'libs'. All these multi billion dollar per year businesses are suddenly 'libs' the moment you disagree with them. I LOVE you guys. Literally anyone you don't like is a 'lib' or a 'commie'. My first thought was that it reminded me of 70s lefties throwing around terms like 'fascist', but in reality it is much more like kids in the school yard.

They run a multi billion dollar a year business. You troll on the internet (badly). There isn't much doubt here who is thinking harder.

I have never once said to honor the flag, the level of fervor is on the level idolatry.
Never said that, although some NFL players, like Kaep, are racist. The difference is, those in Charlottesville were on their own time while NFL players are protesting on their bosses time.

The big automakers also ran multi billion dollar corporations and needed a bailout not that many years ago. There are other examples as well of formerly smartly run companies getting arrogant and then stupid with it. Now you know. No charge for the lesson in either reality or history.

When you lower the age the approval for the protests go up. Younger people are more liberal, more diverse and increasingly more political. Sure Nike might lose some older white customers but they're betting on securing brand loyalty with younger people. That's my guess anyway. Plus are these Maga guys really going to stop buying Nike? How long before Adidas and Puma and Under Armor do the same? They have athletes under contract. What will they do if those athletes start kneeling? I can't see this as a bad business move for Nike.

Um, those guys made millions and millions of dollars. They were raking in cash while running those companies into the ground and then they got tax payers to bail them out. You can say what you want about them, them fuc*s was genius.

Yeah, when you have a corrupt politician in the WH willing to bail you out with government funds, its hard to go bankrupt. But what else is to be expected from crony liberal who don't know how businesses are ran.
